Chapter 56
Giselle couldn’t help but notice the joy sparking in Charlotte’s eyes,
“Instead of claiming that Charlotte is suffering on my behalf, it’s more accurate to say that the Grant family has engaged in tr
many wrongdoings, and this is karma.”
“Giselle!” Sebastian shouted in anger. He raised his hand to strike, but Giselle quickly grabbed his wrist.
A look of shock crossed Sebastian’s face. He was taken aback by the unfamiliar, chilling defiance reflected in her eyes.
“Are you addicted to slapping, Sebastian? That slap was my way of repaying your kindness. From now on, stay out of my life. Take your dear sister and get out of here.”
With that, Sebastian’s hand was forcefully shaken off.
Giselle had never been land and was aware of who treated her well. However, Charlotte’s presence made everyone favor her. Giselle rejected any kindness she believed was insincere.
Her determined and cruel gaze appeared genuine. Sebastian was at a loss for words, showing a complex expression
All of this brought great pleasure to Charlotte. The more Giselle suffered, the happier Charlotte felt.
Despite enduring numerous physical injuries during this time, the thought of Giselle being despised by everyone made it all
worthwhile.
Charlotte believed Giselle was at a disadvantage in the game. Regardless of Giselle’s family background or status, none could rival
hers. After all, she was merely an orphan with no one to depend on. If her biological parents truly cared for her, they would have
reunited with her by now.
Charlotte believed that Giselle wasn’t the long–lost daughter of a wealthy family, as portrayed in novels. Instead, Charlotte saw
herself as the true heroine of the story, with Giselle merely serving as a stepping stone in her journey.
At that moment, the station was dead silent except for Charlotte’s muffled sobs.
Giselle felt utterly drained, both physically and mentally. She had nothing more to say to Sebastian and Charlotte.
Just as she was preparing to bid farewell to Jim, she heard swift footsteps approaching, accompanied by an unmistakably familiar
scent.
“Sorry for being late.”
“Mr. Fordham?” They spoke simultaneously.
Chester’s hair was messy, and two buttons of his shirt were unbuttoned, subtly highlighting his alluring collarbone. The light
artfully masked the anxiety and worry that flickered in his eyes, presenting a striking contrast to his usual refined and composed
demeanor.

Charlotte and Sebastian were stunned. They were confused about why Chester was there and why he seemed familiar with Giselle After realizing that, Charlotte felt her pride fade as Jealousy took over.
Before she could voice her thoughts, Chester’s gaze landed on Giselle’s swollen face. He clenched his fingers, fighting the impulse to touch her. His long eyelashes concealed the fury burning in his e eyes.
“Who did this to you?” he asked.
“I’m fine…” Giselle was perplexed by Chester’s noticeable tension.
Before she could respond, Jim interjected, “It was Mr. Grant.”
Upon hearing this, Sebastian’s heart raced, and an uneasy feeling washed over him. In the next moment, Chester grabbed
Giselle’s wrist and pulled her in front of Sebastian. Giselle was bewildered.
Sebastian frowned and was about to speak when he suddenly got slapped in the face.
