Chapter 61
The moment Giselle’s name was mentioned, Chester couldn’t help but want to listen further.
Tony scoffed inwardly. He then walked to a corner of the racetrack and shielded the microphone of his phone. “Lindsay said
Giselle is pregnant, and the father is Jonathan‘
His words sent Chester’s heart plummeting to the depths. The casual expression on his face disappeared, replaced by a stormy gloom that seemed to chill the air around him.
“What did you say?” he asked for confirmation in a hoarse voice. His grip on the phone tightened, and the veins on his hand.
bulged.
Tony shrank back instinctively, feeling a chill run down his spine. He regretted not keeping his mouth shut.
Half an hour ago, he had bumped into Lindsay, who was also there to watch the race.
She was clearly a social butterfly. She used her connection to Chester as an excuse to strike up idle conversation. Somehow, the
topic had veered toward Giselle.
That was when she had casually dropped this bombshell onto Tony.
At first, he had debated whether to tell Chester, but before he could make up his mind, Chester had called him. Tony couldn’t keep
his emotions in check and spilled everything.
After a moment of silence, Tony tried to comfort him. “Chet, maybe you should just let it go. I mean, seven years is a long time,
and we’re all adults—”
“No one would mistake you for a mute if you stopped talking.”
The sharp retort left Tony instantly quiet.
Chester asked, “How did Lindsay find out?”
“A few days ago, she and Vivian saw Giselle buying a pregnancy test. The next day, they spotted her at the gynecology department.”
These two incidents could only mean one thing–Giselle was pregnant.
The next morning, Giselle was woken by the shrill ring of her phone.
Still groggy, she turned on the speaker and answered. The voice on the other end jolted her fully awake. “Ms. Stone, this is Jim. Are you available today?”
Based on the clues Giselle had provided the night before, the team had identified the prime suspect. After working through the night, they confirmed that the missing woman was in his private club.

If the club had illegal dealings, they could raid it immediately. The problem was that the establishment’s documentation was flawless, and outwardly, it was squeaky clean.
Extracting the woman safely would require more than just brute force.
During their emergency meeting, they had run through various scenarios. The greatest concern was that the woman might refuse to leave. When someone was blinded by emotions, rationality rarely prevailed.
Technically, involving Giselle was outside the scope of their protocols, but right now, her help seemed like the most viable solution.
They had reviewed her latest analysis video, which was clear and well–structured. Her logical approach was a stark contrast to Charlotte’s shallow and misguided views.
If Giselle got involved, convincing even the most stubborn people might be possible.
Giselle agreed without hesitation.
The private club was in a neighboring city. After packing her things quickly, she headed out to meet Jim and the team.
On the way, Chester sent her a message. “What are your plans for today?”
Giselle briefly explained her involvement in the case, but she didn’t receive a reply after that. For some reason, it left her feeling a little disappointed.
Meanwhile, Jim was briefing the team, emphasizing one point above all else–Giselle’s safety was their top priority.
“I can handle myself,” Giselle said calmly.
Surviving all these years hadn’t come from intellect alone. Her potential was boundless.
