Chapter 68
To be honest,

held a grudge against Richard Although she was his biological granddaughter, Richard chose to deren
What was so special about Giselle? She was nothing more than a child with an unknown parentage!
Vivian thought Richard had become senile. He couldn’t even tell right from wrong anymore.

That was why she had decided to visit only Jonathan today. If it hadn’t been for Jonathan asking her to visit Richard, she probably
would have found an excuse to leave. A grandfather who favored outsiders wasn’t worth her time!
Reluctantly, she had come, but to her surprise, Chester was there as well.
Chester simply acknowledged her with a soft sound, not even sparing her a glance.
Vivian had grown used to this.
Her uncle had been working on his research abroad for years. She had only seen him a handful of times in her life.
She had heard plenty of rumors about Chester, and with those rumors in mind, she subconsciously feared him.
She tried to enter the ward, but Chester suddenly stood up and blocked her way.
“Uncle Chester?” she asked, confused.
“Grandpa is asleep. Come back tomorrow,” he said calmly.
Chester knew a little about the conflict between Vivian and Giselle. He couldn’t quite understand it. How had his sister, such a sharp and capable woman, ended up with two foolish children who couldn’t think straight?
Charlotte had easily manipulated them with her crude tricks. Chester believed they had inherited their foolishness from their
father.
Vivian hesitated, noticing the light spilling from the crack in the door. “But the light is on,” she said.
“Can’t he sleep with the light on?” Chester asked, his calm tone carrying a hint of threat.
Vivian’s face turned pale, and she immediately turned to leave. She dared to argue with others, but not Chester.
Inside the ward, Richard was holding Giselle’s hand, speaking earnestly. “Gigi, I know Jonathan has done things that hurt you. I
won’t ask you to forgive him, but come and keep me company when you have time.”
Richard had always seen Giselle as the perfect granddaughter–in–law. He had been waiting for the day she would marry into the
Lawson family, but in the end, she and Jonathan broke up.
That had made him angry, but after some reflection, he came to a realization. If Jonathan could flirt with others now, he would
surely cheat once they were married.

He could protect Giselle now, but what would happen after he died? Giselle would be left completely alone, vulnerable to anyone
who would take advantage of her. Jonathan was simply not a suitable match for her.
Giselle was taken aback for a moment, but she quickly realized what he meant. She replied, “Grandpa, I just want to focus on my career right now. As for relationships, I’ll just go with the flow.”
Richard didn’t agree with her. “Gigi, you need to find someone who can take care of you. I have a few good friends with grandsons
about your age. When you have time, I’ll arrange for you to meet them.”
Giselle couldn’t help but feel amused at Richard trying to matchmake her. She politely refused several times, and only then did Richard give up, albeit reluctantly.
“Gigi, I’ll always see you as my granddaughter. If you find someone in the future, you must bring them to me for approval.”
As he finished speaking, Chester pushed the door open and walked in.
Richard added with a smile, “If you think there’s a generation gap between us, you can always ask for Chester’s
opinion.”
