Chapter 69
“Chester is a good judge of character. If it doesn’t work out, I can have him look into a few solutions…”
Giselle felt a bit embarrassed.
Chester, however, quickly caught on to what Richard was suggesting. Richard wanted him to introduce someone to Giselle.
Chester walked over without showing any emotion and casually took Richard’s book out of his hands. “Uncle Richard, it’s getting late. You should get some rest,” he said.
Richard chuckled. “Chester, surely you know some single young men? Pick someone with good character and introduce him to
Gigi.”
Giselle quickly interjected, “Grandpa, really, there’s no need. I’m not looking for a relationship right now…”
“No introductions,” Chester said, and Giselle’s words trailed off with that firm response.
He didn’t t even bother with being polite and had rejected the idea outright. Even Richard was surprised by his decisiveness.
Richard didn’t ask any further questions and simply watched as Giselle and Chester left.
Afterward, though, he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off, but he couldn’t figure out exactly what it was.
“Mr. Fordham, I can take a cab home myself. Thank you for everything tonight.”
As they exited the hospital, Giselle stopped and turned around, politely declining his offer to drive her home.
The rain had stopped. A cool breeze rustled through the air, and her hair fluttered, forming a graceful arc as the wind swept them
- up.
Her expression was calm and composed, making her look even more beautiful under the moonlight.
Chester lowered his gaze, the long lashes casting a subtle shadow beneath his eyes. In a low voice, he said, “I’m headed that way
anyway. Let me give you a ride.”
This time, Giselle refused firmly. “It’s really no trouble, Mr. Fordham.”
Chester raised an eyebrow, shrewdly noticing that she seemed… upset. But why?
Not far away, Vivian stood under a streetlight, waiting for her ride.
The sight before her made her instinctively step back and hide behind the light pole. She watched them with widened eyes.
Her mind raced. Why were her uncle and Giselle together? From where she stood, they looked like a couple who were arguing.
When Giselle twisted her ankle and Chester reached out to steady her, it only seemed to confirm her speculation. Vivian quickly

pulled out her phone and snapped a picture.
Charlotte was right–Giselle was a vixen! She had been a flirt while dating Jonathan, and now that they had broken up, she was
trying to make a move on Chester
What a shameless woman! She was worse than any mistress!
Vivian’s face flushed with anger. She was tempted to march over and slap Giselle, but Chester was there. She was afraid of him.
While she hesitated, Giselle and Chester left. Vivian stomped her foot in anger and immediately called Charlotte.
As soon as the call connected, Vivian asked, “Charlotte, guess who I saw in front of the hospital?”
Charlotte had just calmed Jonathan down, who had been emotional. She stepped out of the ward wearily and answered Vivian’s-
call. “Who did you see?”
“Giselle and Uncle Chester!”
Chester? Giselle?
Charlotte’s expression immediately shifted. She quickly covered the receiver and moved away from the ward.
“Vivi, are you sure you didn’t mistake someone else for them?”
Unlike o
others, Charlotte felt she had more insight into this situation. A few days ago, at the police station, Chester had been.
unusually protective of Giselle from the moment he arrived.
Anyone who saw that would have suspected something was off. She hadn’t shared this with anyone but her brother, Sebastian.
She had warned him not to tell anyone else.
