Chapter 77
Emma magnified a photo of Charlotte’s face. She was covered in tears and snot, and both her cheeks were severely bruised and beaten. This situation couldn’t be simply described as disgraceful.
“I really enjoyed watching this today. Charlotte was just born to get beaten up. She deserves it for leading young women astray!” Emma exclaimed..
She suddenly felt as though the heavy feeling on her chest had lightened, and her frail body seemed to have gotten some relief.
She turned the photo of Charlotte’s face into a sticker and said, “Gigi, if Charlotte harasses you again in the future, just send this sticker to her!”
Giselle silently saved it. After arriving at the hospital lobby, she asked Emma, “What’s Yvonne’s mom’s background?”
Considering that Charlotte was the precious daughter of the Grant family, it would make no sense if the other party had no prominent background and yet still beat Charlotte to that extent. Giselle certainly didn’t believe that.
Emma lay back in bed and said, “She’s just an ordinary housewife… But if you’re asking about her before she got married, then she was quite the established woman.
“A popular female screenwriter in the industry with several bestsellers to her name. She commanded at least eight figures for her salary.”
When Emma was younger, she watched many TV shows directed by Yvonne’s mother. When she looked back at them now, they
had all turned into classics.
Unfortunately, Yvonne’s mother retired after she got married.
Giselle pondered out loud, “She’s not from a wealthy family?‘
If she wasn’t, then her daringness to beat Charlotte to a pulp was quite commendable.
“I’m not sure. But I am curious about who she got married to after leaving the industry.”
Emma had scoured the internet for information, but she didn’t receive any solid answers.
After sitting for a while more, Giselle said, “I’m going to go see Yvonne.”
After asking Jim for the specific ward number, Giselle took the elevator up.
Outside of the operation room stood not only Yvonne’s mother but also Sebastian, who was there demanding an explanation.
Giselle’s appearance made the atmosphere even more awkward. Sebastian glanced at her sideways and furrowed his brow deeply.
But when he considered Giselle’s crazy behavior yesterday, he chose to remain silent.
“Why are you here?”

The one who asked that question was Yvonne’s mother, Lily Stewart. She hadn’t rested all night, and the dark circles under her
bloodshot eyes were apparent
“I’m here to visit Yvonne,” Giselle said.
As soon as she said that, the surroundings became shrouded in an awkward and tense atmosphere.
After Yvonne was found, Jim had explained what had happened to Lily. If it weren’t for Giselle, Yvonne might not have even
returned back to Lily’s side so quickly. If they went by that logic, then Lily should also be thanking Giselle.
Lily pursed her lips for a long time, but in the end, she didn’t say anything.
A short while later, Sebastian looked coldly at the haggard Lily and said, “The Grant family will not be letting you off so easily
regarding your one–sided assault on my sister.”
Lily wasn’t intimidated and fearlessly met Sebastian’s eyes. She also harshly warned, “If anything happens to my daughter, I
won’t let you off the hook either.”
Both parties reached a stalemate.
Sebastian’s upbringing prevented him from cursing at others. Still, when he thought about Charlotte getting beaten up,
on his forehead bulged with anger.
“Mrs. Sullivan, I will have you charged with intentional assault. Just wait,” Sebastian promised

To him, Charlotte had suffered outside the family’s protection for more than 20 years. Now that she had returned, he would never
allow her to suffer any more grievances. The Grant family refused to settle this matter!
Giselle couldn’t hold back and snorted in laughter upon seeing this.
Sebastian’s sharp gaze snapped over to her. “Giselle! What are you laughing at?”
Giselle restrained the smile on her lips and, with an equally cold gaze, said, “I’m laughing at the great authority you
possess.”
