Chapter 79
The light on Chester’s side looked a bit dim. The faint white light reflected from the phone screen added a hint of coldness to his
handsome, delicate features. His gaze behind his glasses was hard to decipher.
He stood up and walked to the side. The screen shook as he moved, and it was unclear whether it was intentional or not, but the
camera swept over a certain spot of his.
Giselle was stunned for a while. Then, she reacted in a panic and shifted her gaze. Her ears turned red as if she was about to
explode with embarrassment.
“Ms. Stone, what happened to you?”
Chester’s handsome face reappeared on the phone screen, accompanied by his clear and deep voice. He took off his glasses and,
with the camera being so close to his face, clearly revealed his long and thick eyelashes.
Giselle’s heart started to beat loudly and uncontrollably. She quickly switched to her rear camera and coughed a few times to
cover up her inexplicable panic.
“It’s nothing. Just feeling a bit hot,” she replied.
Anyone who heard her would know she was lying.
Chester pretended not to notice. Based on what he could see, he deduced that she was currently in the hospital. He couldn’t help
but think of Tony’s mention of Giselle’s pregnancy.
He wanted to ask her, but he couldn’t find the right words to say. Finally, he said, “I just finished up my work here. Ms. Stone,
there’s something I think might interest you.”
Something she would be interested in?
Giselle tried to suppress the strange emotions she felt and asked curiously, “What is it?”
“The owner behind Luxe Haven is surnamed Grant.”
Did the Grant family open a private club? Did they really dare to do things that were toeing the line of legality?
That was what Giselle first thought of. She frowned and asked, “Is it Sebastian?”
“No, it isn’t,” Chester denied. “I’ll tell you who it is when I find out.”
He usually wasn’t someone who meddled in others‘ affairs, but whenever it came to anything involving Giselle, Chester became
quite concerned.
Giselle hadn’t expected the matter to also involve the Grant family. She changed her stance on the matter and wanted to ask Chester for details, but then Lily suddenly appeared before her and interrupted her thoughts.
Giselle hung up the call first and turned her attention to Lily.

Lily’s eyes were swollen from her crying, but she had managed to compose herself after a while. She hoarsely asked, “Ms. Stone,
can we find a place to talk?”
The hospital’s corridor was gloomy and quiet.
Lily stood with the light behind her back, making her entire face hidden in darkness.
“I heard that you used to study psychology, Ms. Stone. I would like to ask for your help.”
Lily’s sudden polite tone made the situation seem fishy. Giselle narrowed her eyes at her and calmly said, “Go ahead.”
“When Yves wakes up, can you help her with some psychological counseling? She’s all I have left. I can’t lose her.”
As Lily spoke, the emotions she had struggled to calm down flared up again.
Giselle didn’t comfort her and instead bluntly remarked, “Mrs. Sullivan, don’t you think you’re partially responsible for why
Yvonne has become like this?
“While I was taking her away from the club, do you know what she said to me?”
While looking into Lily’s fragile and pained gaze, Giselle cruelly revealed the truth. “She said she didn’t want to go home to a
place that felt like hell, and even more so, she didn’t want to return to a controlling mother!”
The corridor echoed with Giselle’s voice.
Lily couldn’t bear her pain anymore and collapsed to the floor. She had a terribly unbearable headache, and her tears had run dry
by that point.
“I–I was clearly doing it for her own good. If she didn’t listen, Brady would abandon us both…”
She murmured to herself as if she was trying to convince herself.
Giselle only felt pity for her. She looked down at Lily, who had collapsed on the ground, and she asked, “I’m curious. Did he save your life?”
