Chapter 16
The man eyed Giselle lecherously. She recognized him–he was Phil Cross, one of Jonathan’s good friends. She’d already
forgotten about this, but his words reminded her.
Phil wanted to get in her pants but had never dared to do anything about it because he feared retribution from Jonathan. The only
time he’d expressed his desire was when Jonathan had brought Charlotte with him to a charity dinner.
Phil told Giselle that Jonathan wasn’t in love with her anymore and advised her to switch to someone else. He also told her he was
willing to take her as his lover despite having a fiancée.
Giselle had turned him down and fallen out with him.
“Does Jonathan know about this?” Giselle asked, trying to stay calm. She quickly tried to devise a plan to get away.
There were three men in the room. If Emma weren’t drunk, they would stand a chance of getting away. However, Emma was fast
asleep now. Giselle would have a hard time fending the three men off, especially if she needed to protect Emma.
“Jon’s long since lost interest in you, Giselle. Don’t tell me you’re still thinking about him! Isn’t it clear enough what he
now that he’s left you for us? Be good, and I’ll be gentle with you.” Phil reached out to touch Giselle’s face.
She slapped his hand away. “Don’t touch me with your dirty hand.”

The disgust in her eyes was an insult to Phil’s pride. The two men with him were his lackeys–he instructed them to grab Giselle. He didn’t believe that he couldn’t have his way with her that night!
As the two men stalked toward Giselle, she smashed two beer bottles, her expression ruthless. “Come at me if you’re not afraid of
dying.”
The sharp edges of the glass made the two men stop. Phil sneered. “I thought you were a harmless kitten, but it turns out you’re a wildcat. Just the way I like it!”
He didn’t think she could do anything to him. He stalked toward her, only truly becoming furious when his palm was beer bottles. His face twisted with rage. “You’re asking for trouble, Giselle!”

Her strength ultimately wasn’t any match for a grown man. Phil grabbed her by the hair and tugged hard, making her gasp from the pain. He shot a look at the two other guys, who immediately grabbed Giselle’s arms.
She struggled with all her might, her beautiful face turning pale. Even so, her gaze remained stubborn and ruthless.
Phil stared at her until she settled down. “Now, that’s a good girl. But it’s too late.”
He wiped the blood from his hand, his expression menacing. He smiled creepily. He poured a glass of beer and laced it with a white powder. Then, he gripped Giselle’s jaw and forced her to drink. His eyes glinted lecherously, and he leered at her. “I’d like
to see how aloof you can act once you’ve had this.”
Giselle choked on the beer and coughed. The liquid trickled from the corners of her lips, trailing from her jaw and down to her
neck. It ultimately disappeared down her shirt.

Phil swallowed as he watched the droplets flow down her slender neck, feeling aroused. He licked his dry lips and said, “Take the
one lying there back to the Barton residence.”
He recognized Emma and knew she was Larry’s wife. He also coveted her but didn’t dare do anything to her. Giselle was different, though. She was just a poor thing who had no one to back her up now that Jonathan had kicked her to the curb.
The two men lifted Emma to her feet and dragged her out of the room. Meanwhile, Giselle fell to the floor and retched, trying to make everything she’d swallowed come back up.
