Chapter 21
At the moment, Giselle felt so embarrassed that she just wanted to melt into the ground.
She knew that she had a bad habit of going around biting people whenever she got drunk. Although she had been drugged yesterday, she still bit Chester despite not being drunk. But she shouldn’t have done anything worse, right?
She didn’t know, and she didn’t want to know either. It would only be even more embarrassing for her if she knew.
Chester was worried that he was making Giselle distressed, so he quickly left the room, letting her tidy herself up before coming out for lunch.
As the door clicked shut behind her, Giselle belatedly had another dreadful thought.
Who had been the one who changed her out of her clothes?
Half an hour later, Giselle bit the bullet and had lunch with Chester. After she was done with lunch, she decided to meet up
Emma.

Chester sent her there since it was on his way. While Giselle was getting out of the car, he said, “Call me if you need anything.”
She nodded.
Emma happened to be sitting at the table by the window and witnessed everything. When Giselle was finally seated, Emma grinned mischievously and asked, “Gigi, is that your new prospect?”
Giselle sipped on her latte and corrected her. “Don’t talk nonsense. That’s Jonathan’s uncle.”
“Chester Fordham?” Emma exclaimed with her eyes as wide as saucers. She found it unbelievable.
She didn’t bother asking Giselle how they ended up together. Instead, she praised her, saying, “Wow, Gigi, you’ve got game! You’re planning to be Jonathan’s aunt if you can’t be his wife, I see. That’s brilliant!”
A while later, Emma sighed and said, “It’s a pity that Larry doesn’t have an uncle like that. His only uncle is already married.
Tsk”
Giselle was speechless. “There’s nothing going on between me and him.”
Emma gave Giselle a knowing look, as if silently telling her that she already knew it all. So, Giselle decided to change the topic
instead.
She briefly summarized everything that happened last night and told Emma. The more Emma listened to her, the more guilty she
felt.
If she hadn’t brought Giselle to the bar, they wouldn’t have bumped into Jonathan and Charlotte, and none of the incidents
afterward would have happened.

Emma suddenly cursed out loud, her voice bright and clear, attracting attention from all the patrons nearby. Giselle hurriedly
shushed her and tried to calm her down.
Emma did her best to suppress her anger and said, “What Phil did was against the law. Don’t worry, Gigi, I will never let him get
away with it!”
“There aren’t any cameras in the private rooms.”
This was the main reason why Charlotte acted so brazenly last night. People couldn’t just rely on what Giselle said because there
was no proof. Also, Giselle had a criminal record, so Charlotte would be the perfect “victim“.
Charlotte thought that Giselle would just grin and bear with it. However, she had forgotten that Giselle was no longer the frail
young woman she used to know. Giselle could be sly and calculative too.
Emma refused to let the matter go. She did everything she could to find Phil’s contact number. She was going to beat that guy up
before she handed him over to the authorities!
However, after asking around, Emma still wasn’t able to get anything on Phil. In the end, it was the bar owner who told them
about Phil.
He told them that Phil had been terribly beaten up in the private room last night. He had been crying and howling for the whole night before someone came and took him away, but he didn’t know where he’d gone.
Emma hung up and looked at Giselle. She had a hunch. “Do you think Chester might have done that?”
She hadn’t met him often, so she still didn’t know a lot about him. However, she did hear that Chester was a brutal person and
wasn’t nice to be around.
Deep down in her heart, Giselle already knew the answer..
Emma just couldn’t help looking up to Chester after that.
A while later, Larry sent her a text message. After reading it, her face turned dark at once.
When Giselle learned that Emma was going to the hospital, she said, “I’ll go with
you.‘
