The weather was close to 90 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Giselle didn’t really plan on going out.
Still, she decided to meet Emma for breakfast. She then brought her tablet over to the beanbag couch and sat down, facing the rippling blue sea from beyond the floor–length windows.
She took a photo of the scenery outside the window and uploaded it to her social media account.
The fir
The first person to like the photo was Chester. Giselle stared at his name for a long while. It wasn’t until Emma suddenly messaged her with a livestream video link that she suddenly snapped back to her senses.
Emma was in the livestream video, answering the audiences‘ questions on the screen. Giselle looked through the questions and
saw that most of them were related to divorce.
“…Make sure to compile all evidence of our husband cheating on you. Then, get a good lawyer who will fight for all your rights.
Illegitimate children have the right to inherit the family’s wealth. This is protected by law.”
Giselle watched for a while and held her chin, deep in thought. An idea suddenly flashed in her head. She could do something
similar but for personal relationships.
When Giselle told Emma about her idea, Emma was all for it.
There were a lot of people at the breakfast place. Giselle had reserved a private room for them both beforehand, so they went in.
Emma gulped half a glass of water to quench her thirst. She undid the button on the collar of her button–up shirt, showing a bit of
cleavage.
“Do it, Gigi! Do it if that’s what you want to do. Society needs people like you, especially for resolving emotional and personal problems! I even heard from a colleague that young women nowadays don’t hesitate to spend a fortune on tarot card readings
and what not online too…”
Giselle knew about this. Right after graduating from college, she had thought about doing this for a while. However, Jonathan told her that he didn’t want her to show herself to society. So, she agreed to put it aside for the moment.
“I’m wondering which social media platform I should sign a contract with… I probably won’t be able to do anything here in
Seaworth City, though.”
Emma understood at once. “I’ll ask my friends if they know of anyone who could help.”
Giselle had ordered everything Emma liked for breakfast.
It had been a long, busy morning for Emma, and she was starving. However, she felt a little queasy when she ate. She quickly drank another glass of water to calm herself down so that she’d feel better.
Giselle asked in concern, “What’s wrong?”

Emma shook her head and said, “I probably upset my stomach.”
A while later, she looked as if she had just remembered something important. “Gigi, a friend of mine is planning
g to move abroad,
and she asked me to rent out her home for her. It’s a standard two–bedroom apartment. If you want, I can bring you over in a
while to have a look at it.”
Giselle relished in the warm feeling she felt, knowing that Emma had taken her words to heart. She answered, “Actually, I said I’d treat you to breakfast because I wanted to let you know that I’ve managed to find myself a place to rent.”
Emma was shocked. “There are still landlords who aren’t afraid of those wealthy families?”
“He’s a friend of Mr. Fordham’s.”
As soon as Giselle brought Chester’s name up, Emma thought that everything made sense now.
She cast Giselle a knowing look and said, “Gigi, I think that he’s definitely interested in you. Why don’t you just go with the flow?
Isn’t it good to step over that bastard’s head by being his aunt? I think it’s a good idea!”
Giselle often told Emma that Chester was kind and warm–hearted–however, everyone in the city knew that he was actually a
cold and ruthless man. That meant Chester’s kindness and gentleness were reserved for one person only, and that was Giselle.
The more Emma thought about it, the more excited she felt.
Giselle frowned. “Don’t talk nonsense. Mr. Fordham likes someone else. I’m just his wingwoman.”
Emma refused to believe her. She was the one who was watching them earnestly from the sidelines. And, she swore that
something was going on between Giselle and Chester.
At the end of breakfast, the private room’s door, which was left slightly ajar, was kicked open from the outside. A loud, shrill
voice was heard.
“Giselle Stone!”
