Jonathan had never forgotten about the dress. Every time he thought about it, it made him feel incredibly disgusted.
“Jonathan Lawson! Just keep your mouth shut if you can’t speak properly!” Giselle snapped. She looked at him as if he were trash.
“What’s wrong? Am I right? Did I hit a nerve?” Jonathan was certain that Hector was the one who gave Giselle the dress
His handsome features were shadowed by a sharpness that made it hard for anyone to believe these two had been in a relationship for seven years.
Hector silently clicked his tongue in distaste. He said, “Don’t be a hypocrite, Jonathan.”
Years ago, when Jonathan had offered to fund Charlotte’s education, it had stirred quite a controversy within their circles.
Charlotte’s face alone told Hector everything he needed to know–she was far from innocent. Yet Jonathan had fallen for her.

He had a perfect fiancée, yet he had an affair with a woman like Charlotte.
Now, Jonathan actually had the audacity to question Giselle about receiving gifts from other men? How ridiculous!
The disdain in Hector’s eyes stung Jonathan’s pride.
“What’s it to you?”
His voice was cold, and his gaze was dark.
The Shaw family was a long–established lineage in medicine, with generations of doctors in their family. They typically kept to themselves, not interfering with the affairs of other wealthy families.
Hector and Jonathan had barely crossed paths, but Jonathan knew he was close to Chester. And now, he was involved with his ex-
fiancée.
Jonathan, growing more irritable, turned his anger toward Giselle. “I really underestimated you, Giselle. You didn’t take that
million because a man has made you want more
Just then, the sharp sound of a slap echoed in the halls, and Jonathan’s words came to a sudden halt.
Hector fought the urge to applaud. He couldn’t help but look at Giselle with admiration. No wonder Chester had chosen her.
“Giselle Stone!” Jonathan roared. His voice was laced with seething anger. A clear slap mark now adorned his face.
Under his intense gaze, Giselle calmly curled her fingers into a fist. “Keep it down. I can hear you just fine. Also, this is a hospital.
You can’t shout here.”
This was the second time Giselle had slapped Jonathan. She was definitely the only person who dared to slap him.
Hector chimed in, “Ms. Stone’s right. Jonathan, I’ll have to call security if you keep making noise.”

After all, this hospital belonged to the Shaw family. While other hospitals might hesitate to eject Jonathan, they certainly wouldn’t.
Jonathan scoffed in anger and reluctantly agreed to leave. Before storming off, he threw one last insult at Giselle. “Hector is just playing with you, Giselle. I’ll wait for the day you get dumped!”
Once Jonathan had disappeared, Giselle, looking slightly embarrassed, said, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to make a scene.”
Her past with Jonathan had been no secret in their circle.
“Don’t say that, Ms. Stone. I’m truly impressed,” Hector responded with a smile.
Giselle understood what he meant and smiled back. “Sometimes, the simplest solution is the best one when dealing with
someone like him.‘
Hector nodded in agreement.
He quickly sent a message to Chester, asking when he would arrive, then put his phone away and continued following Giselle.
A nurse on the night shift passed by, glancing at them frequently. Giselle made sure to keep a polite distance.
