Mom’s Will
My mom was sick and couldn’t take care of
herself.
After my brother and I agreed, she made a
will:
“My daughter will be responsible for my care, and after my death, she will inherit all of my
estate.”
I painstakingly cared for my mom for three years, helping her with everything.
After she died, my brother suddenly produced
a notarized will.
く
It stated that all of Mom’s property would be
inherited by him.
I was furious and took him to court.
The judge told me that my brother’s will was
valid.
I’d neglected my own health taking care of
Mom all those years.
After the verdict, I was so overwhelmed with anger and grief that I collapsed and died.
Then I opened my eyes again.

Then I opened my eyes again.
I was reborn on the day my mom said she
wanted to make a will.

“Ashley, I’m so lucky to have you. If it weren’t
for you, I don’t know what I’d do.”
Mom held my hand, her face crumpled with
distress.
“Your brother, that ungrateful wretch! After all I’ve done for him, he hasn’t even visited me
once in the hospital.”

Hearing my mom’s familiar voice, my mind
was in a daze.
I instinctively glanced at the time.
I realized I had been reborn to the day Mom
was diagnosed with a stroke and said she
wanted to make a will.
In my past life, Mom had a sudden stroke at
home and was rushed to the hospital.
I immediately dropped everything and rushed
to her side.
The doctor said her condition was serious;

The doctor said her condition was serious;
she would be paralyzed and need constant
care.
I tried to discuss with my brother how we
could share the responsibility of caring for Mom, but he hung up as soon as he heard.
With no other choice, I took on the burden of caring for her. Every day after work, I rushed
to the hospital.
When she was finally discharged, I brought
her home.

her home.
From then on, I managed everything for her,
even getting yelled at if a single strand of her
hair was out of place.
I was exhausted, but Mom suddenly made a will, saying she would leave all her inheritance
to me.
Then, after her death, my brother showed up with a notarized will, claiming the entire
estate.
I didn’t find out until we went to court that his
will was the valid one.
<
My brother lived a life of luxury with the
inheritance, while I died filled with resentment
and injustice.
The memory of that injustice and resentment
filled my heart.
Mom didn’t notice anything unusual,
continuing her dramatic performance.
“That ungrateful boy said he’d be here soon.
I’ll make the will right in front of him, leaving
everything to you.”
I nodded calmly, “Whatever you want, Mom.
I’m just going to use the restroom.”
