returned days before he regained his sight.
“It wasn’t you, who was with me?”
- 7.
Willow tried to grab the papers; Ethan pushed
her back.
“Yes! It wasn’t me, it was Sarah! So what?
She’s dead!”
She laughed hysterically.
“Being her replacement all these years…
worth it! Hahaha-”
Ethan’s eyes blazed.
“So you replaced Sarah, and lied, saying she
<
replaced you?”
“Exactly. You’re pathetic, you thought she
was my replacement, the person you were
looking for was always by your side.”
He slapped her repeatedly until she bled.
“Cough… I not only took her place, forcing
her divorce… I gave your child a ‘gift‘!”
“Viper, you’re insane.
“Insane? You forced her to apologize, kneel,
test medicine. Didn’t you force her to do all
that?”
“Say another word, and I’ll kill you!”
Ethan couldn’t bear it. He’d ignored Sarah,
but the true culprit was himself.
He’d mistaken her for someone else, ruining
her life.
He’d been lost in a dream, mistaking a pebble
く
for a pearl.
He ignored Willow’s screams, ordering her to
be taken away.
“She loved impersonating Sarah. Let her taste
a hundredfold of Sarah’s pain.
Willow was terrified. She’d die if given those
injections.
She begged, but Ethan kicked her, knocking
her unconscious.
Everything was cleaned up. Ethan went to
Sarah’s room.
Dust covered everything, a mix of mildew and
medicine.
He searched for her things, finding nothing.
Only two faded shirts in her closet. “Sarah, were you this miserable?”
“Why didn’t you say it was you?”
く
“What am I supposed to do now that you’re
gone?”
Before, her voice annoyed him. Now, he
yearned to hear it again.
He sobbed uncontrollably. The phone rang. “Mr. Reed, the funeral home… Madam’s
body…”
