Chapter 16
“Emma, don’t go!” Alpha Edmond grabbed her, his voice dripping with a softness that was damn near maddening. “You and the kids stay here. This estate is mine, and without my permission, no one’s taking your anywhere!”
He shot me a warning glance, full of unspoken threats.
Numb, I turned my head, only to see the twins reaching for three ceramic figurines on the shelf.
My heart seized, and I shouted, “Put those down!”
The twins jumped in surprise, and the figurines fell to the ground with a loud crash,

shattering into pieces.
“Whoa-” they both cried out, bursting into
tears.
Emma instantly teared up and accused me in a choked voice, “Fiona, if you can’t stand me, I can leave. But why are you yelling at the kids? What did they ever do to deserve. your rage? Why do you keep hurting them time and again?”
Alpha Edmond’s face darkened with anger as he raised his hand and slapped me hard.
“Fiona, can’t you have a little compassion as a Luna? Those kids are fragile. You’ve scared them once already–what if you traumatize them for life? Are you ready to take responsibility for that?”
At that moment, I couldn’t process a single

word.
All I could see were the shattered ceramics.
I dashed forward like a maniac, scooping up the sharp shards, my fingers slicing open and blood flowing freely, but I barely felt the pain.
Those three figurines were Noah’s favorite toys, a gift I had crafted with Alpha Edmond for his third birthday. Edmond had once told me that the three little figures represented our happy family, always together.
But now, Noah was gone, and the figurines were destroyed.
My family was shattered too.
All the sorrow and anguish I’d been bottling up broke loose in that moment, and I

clutched the broken pieces in my arms, sobbing uncontrollably.
Alpha Edmond looked bewildered, furrowing his brow as he scolded me. “Fiona, are you possessed or something today?”
Emma feigned concern, “Fiona, is something sad coming back to you?”
“Forget her!” Alpha Edmond said, pulling Emma close. His eyes were cold as he
added, “If she wants to cry, let her have her moment!”
With that, they led the twins upstairs without a backward glance.
I stood there, staring at the ceramic fragments in my hands, the pain gnawing at me as if it wanted to tear me apart.

After a long while, I pulled out my phone and dialed a number.
“Hello… I need to contact the werewolf
court.”
After hanging up, I looked around at the vast Silver Moon Pack.
This wasn’t my home anymore.
I intended to leave right then, but suddenly, a wave of dizziness hit me, forcing me to retreat to my room for a moment of rest.
After half an hour, I packed up a few belongings and Noah’s keepsakes, loaded up my suitcase, and stepped out of Silver Moon Pack.
