Alpha Edmond snatched the death certificate from Emma’s hands.
He skimmed it, a flicker of rage tightening his features, his eyes brimming with barely–contained fury. “Fiona, you went so far as to forge something like this just to fool me?”
He slammed the paper back into my face, practically growling, “Let me make this clear. my patience has its limits! If you keep this up, Luna’s position will sooner or later belong to Emma! The Alpha heir of Silver Moon Pack will be Emma’s son!”
The sharp edge of the paper sliced across my cheek, leaving a stinging red mark.

I wiped the blood from my face, my heart frozen solid like a stone. “Suit yourself, I don’t give a damn.”
“Fiona, how long are you going to go insane?”
In stark contrast to his fury, I remained eerily calm. “I’m not causing a scene anymore. I just want to leave.”
Alpha Edmond’s gaze was chilling, and he gritted his teeth as he said, “You are my Luna. Without my permission, you cannot set foot outside this place!”
I was determined to leave.
Suddenly, he raised his hand and struck the back of my neck with a quick, brutal chop.

Twenty minutes later, a bucket of ice water doused me awake.
I opened my eyes to find myself bound hand and foot, thrown onto a sofa in a room, unable to move.
“Awake, are we?”
Emma stood in front of me, a mocking smile on her lips, her tone dripping with provocation. “Fiona, just look at you- you’re a complete mess, expressionless and vacant. You look like a fish that’s been dead for days. No wonder Alpha Edmond has fallen for me!”

At her words, all my calm shattered.
I glared at her, seething with anger. “Emma! The Moon Goddess will punish you!”
“Punish?” Emma scoffed, her lips curling in disdain. “Let’s see who gets punished first.”
With that, she suddenly bit down hard on her palm, then grabbed a teacup from the table and smashed it on the floor, screaming.

With that, he raised his hand to slap me.
Just then, a loud crash echoed from downstairs, like the front door of the mansion had been smashed in.
Heavy, hurried footsteps climbed the stairs.
A group of warriors wearing werewolf court uniforms stormed in, their demeanor aggressive, faces solemn.
