By this time, one of the Warriors had stepped forward and cut the ropes binding me with a knife.
Free at last, I staggered to my feet and marched straight up to Alpha Edmond.

I pulled out my phone, opened the photo gallery, and shoved a picture of Noah, covered in tubes at the medical center, right in front of him.

The court’s Warriors stepped forward, binding his wrists with manacles inscribed with runes, and led him away.

Emma clutched her face, her eyes wide with fury, her brows raised in outrage. “Fiona, what’s with the attitude? You think I’ll be scared of you just because Edmond isn’t here?”
She screamed, lunging at me once more.

“Emma, I’m not the woman you once pushed around anymore.”
“I’m giving you half an hour to gather your things and move out with your kids.”
