Emma wouldn’t leave, but I didn’t have time to engage her.
I ordered the Warrior, still loyal to Luna, to toss her and those two kids out.
This mansion, even if I wasn’t living in it, would never be handed over to the one responsible for taking my son’s life.
Then, I had the resources under the Silver Moon Pack completely locked down.
With nowhere else to go, Emma and her kids ended up at a motel outside of the pack.
My wolf told me her scent was thick with resentment and bitterness.

Two days later, Alpha Edmond was temporarily released.
I guessed it was the elders of the pack stepping in, claiming they couldn’t be without an Alpha, and he was let out on bail from the court.
He came looking for me immediately.
Just two days, and this man looked utterly haggard–dark circles under his eyes, unshaven, and radiating exhaustion.
His eyes were red, and with a choked voice, he apologized, “Fiona, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to cause Noah’s death… I didn’t know his body would be so fragile. I just… I just wanted to use him to scare you…”
“Stop pretending!” I interrupted him coldly.

After a long silence, he rasped, “Fiona, where is Noah… resting? I want to see him.”
“You don’t deserve it.”
Alpha Edmond covered his face, tears slipping through his fingers and falling to the ground.
“Fiona, I truly see my mistakes now… Noah was my first child. I still remember the excitement I felt when he was born.”
“I genuinely raised him to be the heir of Silver Moon Pack. His death pains me deeply. Please, take me to see him…”
His remorse and tears meant nothing to me.
