Chapter24
Jayvion and his group departed from the Wyatt Group headquarters.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, when a doctor mentioned Sylvia’s name, the physician who had mocked Yesenia earlier immediately interrupted, “Absolutely not! Sylvia is out of the question!”
Yesenia turned slowly toward him, the curve of her red lips visible beneath her mask as she glanced at his name tag.
“Do enlighten us, Dr. Wilcox. Why can’t Sylvia do it?”
Roderick shot Nathan Wilcox a warning look before turning to Yesenia with practiced diplomacy.
“Ms. Serrano, this patient is a valued client. You must have heard of the Mosley family, right? It’s one of Kraitburgh’s five elite families. This patient is their cherished daughter. Our hospital holds her in the highest regard. Given their resources and status, experimental treatments simply aren’t…..”
Every word emphasized the Mosleys‘ influence and Sylvia’s privileged position.
Yesenia’s eyes turned cold at the words.
“Dr. Chaney, why waste breath explaining to him?” Nathan glared up at Yesenia, hostility plain in his gaze.
“Some masked nobody came out of nowhere claiming to be Wren Serrano’s protege? More likely a fraud trying to scam us! Dr. Chaney, don’t be fooled!”

Roderick froze, his gaze snapping to Yesenia as realization dawned.
Right… This person had only shown him a letter upon arrival. Without concrete proof of her identity, the letter’s authenticity remained questionable.
After all, no one had ever seen the famous doctor’s face.
Yesenia felt the skeptical stares from Roderick and the others.
Just as she opened her mouth to respond, a nurse burst into the room, gasping for breath. “Dr. Chaney! Emergency! Three patients arrived with unexplained hematemesis and unconsciousness! The ER team can’t identify the cause!”
Roderick paled. “Mobilize all internal medicine specialists immediately!”
Nathan seized the opportunity, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Why rush, Dr. Chaney? Don’t we have the illustrious doctor Ms. Serrano right here?”
Roderick’s eyes lit up momentarily before doubt resurfaced. If this woman was an impostor, letting her treat patients could spell disaster for the hospital.
But before he could decide, Yesenia was already moving. “Take me there,” she told the nurse.
Though unfamiliar with Yesenia, the nurse found her calm authority inexplicably reassuring and hurried ahead.
“Wait! I didn’t authorize that.” Roderick scrambled after them with his
team.
When the group reached the ER, the special care unit at the far end had already descended into chaos.
The moment Yesenia stepped through the sliding glass doors, the nearest patient violently vomited blood.
Yesenia’s eyes narrowed as she strode forward without hesitation.
Nathan deliberately raised his voice as he entered, “Lives are at stake here. Some people shouldn’t pretend to know what they’re doing.”
His words made everyone in the ER turn to Yesenia with growing
tension.
Ignoring them. Yesenia stepped past the nurse and took the bleeding patient’s wrist, checking his pulse.
Nathan’s expression darkened slightly when he saw her professional technique.
He snorted. This fraud actually had some skills.
Putting aside his prejudice. he joined other specialists examining the remaining patients.
Once they identified the cause, treatment would be straightforward.
His medical skills were among the hospital’s best, which explained why Roderick valued his opinion.
After listening to the patient’s heartbeat and abdominal sounds with his stethoscope, Nathan concluded, “Food poisoning. Prep them for gastric lavage.”
An emergency doctor chimed in, “We initially suspected poisoning too, but they’re only vomiting blood without other typical symptoms. Thank goodness you confirmed it, Dr. Wilcox. Now we know how to proceed.”
Nathan looked smug. “You’ll recognize these cases with more

experience. Now prepare the…”
“Give them gastric lavage and they’ll hemorrhage worse,” Yesenia interjected.
Nathan’s face darkened. “What nonsense are you spouting?”
Having checked all three patients, Yesenia explained calmly, “While shock symptoms stem from food poisoning, the hematemesis comes from pre–existing pulmonary lesions. These three are likely immediate family members sharing the same genetic lung condition.”
“Absolute nonsense!” Nathan shouted. “I detected no pulmonary issues! And you’re claiming they’re related just by taking pulses? How pathetically laughable.”
Yesenia met his gaze, shaking her head with something like pity.
Without wasting more time, she unrolled a cloth packet of thin special tools and began rolling up the first patient’s sleeve for treatment.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Nathan rushed forward to stop her.
But a nurse suddenly burst in with test results, shouting, “The blood tests and respiratory pathogen results are back! All three patients… they do have lung disease!”
Nathan froze. “What?”
He snatched the reports, scanned them rapidly, and went completely still.
Yesenia’s diagnosis had been completely accurate, even the part about them being relatives!
Before he could process his shock, another nurse gasped. “The bleeding stopped!”

After Yesenia’s treatment, the first patient’s hematemesis had significantly reduced.
She moved on to treat the other two with the same swift precision.

Ten minutes later, all three patients were stabilized and wheeled into intensive care.
Yesenia washed her hands and sterilized her tools at the sterilization
station.
Roderick hurried over, practically bowing. “Ms. Serrano, thank goodness you’re here today! Without you, this could have been a disaster!”
Misdiagnosis and improper treatment could have cost lives.
Yesenia turned slowly, her gaze locking onto Nathan as she addressed Roderick, “I’d like to see Sylvia now.”
“Of course! Right this way, Ms. Serrano.”
Nathan watched them leave, seething. He punched the wall before pulling out his phone to send a text.
“Ms. Serrano, this is our supreme ward. We only have two in our hospital. This one is exclusively reserved for Ms. Mosley by her family.”
Roderick’s explanation was unnecessary. Yesenia knew exactly how far the Mosleys would go to pamper Sylvia.
After knocking and hearing permission to enter, they opened the door.
The sight of the lively gathering made Yesenia smile with mockery.
