Chapter3
The Maybach slowly rolled into Erton Valley, Kraitburgh’s most affluent neighborhood.
When Yesenia had just been taken back by the Mosley family, Ramiro had already given her the address and the password. He had bought her a villa, fearing she might be having a hard time in the Mosleys.
In her past life, Yesenia had been coldly treated and looked down upon. She had never once set foot in this area.
What she didn’t expect was that Jayvion lived here too.
But the deeper the car drove into the residential area, the more uneasy Yesenia felt.
She opened the map for a look and realized they had already passed beyond the bounds of Erton Valley, entering a nameless zone unmarked on the map.
At last, a massive black-and-gold iron gate appeared before them.
On the other side of it was an estate-sized lawn and a scattering of extravagant buildings.
After getting out of the car, Yesenia was led into a white building filled with medical equipment and supplies. A faint smell of alcohol lingered in the air. It was a private hospital.
The corners of Yesenia’s mouth twitched. She finally understood why people all said that Jayvion Wyatt owned half a city before his downfall.
Such wealth…
Even now, if Jayvion wished, he could still turn the whole city upside down effortlessly.
When a nurse came over to draw her blood, Yesenia’s brow twitched.
“So I need to be examined before meeting your master?”
The nurse gave no explanation and only said, “Please cooperate, Ms. Mosley.”
Yesenia obediently extended her arm and did as she was told.
After all, she had treated him like a cure. She did owe him in this sense.
After the blood draw, the nurse left. Bored, Yesenia wandered around the glass-walled pharmacy.
She noticed a large portion of sedatives and analgesics. With a thoughtful expression, she slowly closed her eyes.
After a while, the sound of mechanical wheels echoed down the corridor.
With her hands behind her back, Yesenia slowly turned around.
Not long ago, she had seen this same face in a dimly lit room.
Back then, his eyes had been closed.
Now, seated in a wheelchair, Jayvion approached with elegance, his gaze fixed on her.
His eyes looked cold and distant, but Yesenia sensed the fire buried deep within them.
He wanted to kill her!
Realizing this, Yesenia was the first to speak. “Though it may be a little late to say this, my intention was to strike a deal with you, Mr. Wyatt.”
Jayvion stopped in front of her. Reaching out, he grabbed her neck and effortlessly dragged her closer.
“Ms. Mosley, you prefer to act first and explain later? Do you think you have a second life to throw away?”
Jayvion caressed the side of her neck as if amused by her words.
He was like a beast pinning down its prey, leisurely searching for the best place to strike…
He was aiming for the kill.
Instinctively, Yesenia raised her hand to grip his wrist. Still smiling, she said, “It was indeed rude of me a few hours ago. I apologize, Mr. Wyatt. But I believe this deal will absolutely satisfy you.”
Jayvion said nothing, merely watching her in silence.
Yesenia showed no awkwardness. Glancing at his legs, she added, “I’m confident I can cure your legs, Mr. Wyatt.”
“Ms. Mosley, mind your words!”
The warning came from Emanuel.
Jayvion’s legs had always been a forbidden subject.
As expected, his gaze grew even more furious. His hand turned cold.
“You really think you can do whatever you want now that you’re back with the Mosley family?”
Yesenia pressed on a point of his wrist, controlling his strength.
“Since you’ve looked into my past, you should know I spent two years in Bruvania. There, I met a master of traditional medicine who taught me his skills. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have passed out so easily back in the room.”
At the mention of what happened before, Jayvion looked even more cranky.
“You don’t think I would dare kill you?”
“Well, I believe you would. But I’m also trying to give myself a chance to make it up to you.”
Yesenia looked serious. “Your leg injury happened six months ago. You can’t walk, but you still have sensation. Let me try. Maybe I can heal you.”
Jayvion cast a glance at the medicine cabinet she had looked at earlier, the corners of his lips curling slightly.
His smirk looked deadly.
“You’re pretty quick-witted. Do you really think I’d believe your nonsense?”
Before saying that, he reached out and grabbed Yesenia’s hands, twisting her arms behind her back.
Her legs were pinned under the wheelchair. She could no longer fight back.
“You’d better be grateful you were still clean, or I would have already killed you.”
She couldn’t move. She could only listen as the man’s shallow breaths brushed past her ear, his fingers slowly tightening around her throat.
Yesenia opened her mouth, trying her best to speak.
“You… you were drugged and hurt… I… I can undo it…”
Jayvion’s pupils contracted sharply.
Before he could react, a figure rushed in, grabbed Jayvion’s hand, and began smacking it hard.
“Let go! Let her go! Are you trying to strangle his future wife to death?!”
Due to Harrison’s intervention, Jayvion finally loosened his grip.
Yesenia collapsed to the floor, coughing and clutching her throat.
She looked up and saw Jayvion towering over her, coldly wiping his hands with the alcohol wipes Emanuel handed over. Furious, she snapped back, “What’s the point of wiping your hands so clean? Are you going to disinfect the rest of yourself too?”
Jayvion’s face grew even darker.
Harrison covered his mouth in awe. “No wonder you’re the one who took Jayvion’s V-card. Girl, you’re fierce!”
Yesenia, grateful to be alive, replied jokingly, “You flatter me.”
Jayvion roared, “Harrison Wyatt, this has nothing to do with you. Get out!”
“How does this have nothing to do with me? Grandpa, Grandma, Mom, Dad, Uncle, Auntie… they all told me before they passed away that I had to watch over you. I didn’t need to do anything else, just help you find a good wife who could stay with you for life. I’ve waited 23 years for this. Do you know how long that felt?”
Harrison widened his eyes dramatically, putting on an exaggerated expression as he fake-cried and pretended to wipe tears.
Well, that… looked quite sassy.
Curious, Yesenia glanced at Jayvion and couldn’t help but ask, “Wait, was it really your first time?”
Jayvion had had enough. “Emanuel, throw her out back. Let the bears deal with her.”
Yesenia quickly yielded. “I was just joking. But what I said earlier… I meant every word.”
Jayvion stared at her, his gaze unreadable, as if trying to figure her out.
“How did the Mosley family find out about my condition?”
“They didn’t,” Yesenia shook her head. “No one told me about your injury.”
She slowly stood up, the teasing gone from her face, replaced by a rare seriousness. “I’m confident I can heal you. Let me try.”
Harrison didn’t believe that, either. “Future cousin-in-law, it’s fine to boast a little. But that’s a bit much, don’t you think?”
Jayvion ignored him entirely, keeping his eyes fixed on Yesenia.
“If you’re lying to me, I’m sure you’ll beg for death.”
“Don’t worry. I sincerely want to heal you.”
“What’s your condition?”
Yesenia spread her hands. “I already said. Things were urgent earlier, and I had no other choice. I didn’t mean to take advantage of you, Mr. Wyatt.
“But I do have one condition. For the best treatment outcome, I need to live with you.”
Harrison’s eyes lit up. “Whoa, you’re basically proposing already! You’re dying to move in! Bro, you’ve struck gold! She’s head over heels for you!”
Both Jayvion and Yesenia were speechless.
