Raina said she’d be here. So where was she? Three hours were up, and I was fed up with waiting. Fed up with Dominic following me everywhere, as if I’d disappear the moment he turned his back. Maybe I would. Maybe I wanted to.
I shoved off the couch, heading for the bathroom with my phone clutched in my hand, but Dominic was faster. His fingers wrapped around my wrist, his touch searching, like an open wound. The betrayal made it burn.

His nostrils flared, but I kept going. “You broke our marriage, and now you think I should help you fix it? I cocked my head, my voice sharp as glass.” You can try. But I won’t be in it.”

Before I knew it, the palm of my hand cracked against his cheek. Hard. So hard that It stung my hand. His head snapped sideways, blood beginning to pool at the comer of his mouth.
Dominic let out a low chuckle, wiping his lip with the back of his hand. “Didn’t know you had that in you.” His gaze flickered with something unreadable. “Though I should’ve known. You didn’t hesitate to expose Eliza and her fake pregnancy.”
1 tuned to leave, but his hand shot out again, catching my arm. In the next second, my back hit the wall, his hands bracketing me in.
“Is there nothing I can do?” he asked, his voice raw. “Caleb still needs us. He needs both of his parents.”
My heart twisted painfully. Caleb, Our son. He deserved better than this mess we created.
“You should’ve thought about that before you brought a devil into our home,” I whispered.
Tears burned my eyes, but I refused to let them fall. “You know what my father did to my mother. You know what I went through. And still, you did the same damn thing”
Dorninic’s breath hitched, his own eyes glassy. “I’m sorry.”
“Sorry doesn’t erase the past.”
“No, but I need to fox this.” He drew nearer. “If Raina and Alex could get things sorted between them, what’s stopping us?”
I rolled my eyes. “I need to use the bathroom.”
A lie. I needed to speak to my attorney. I needed the divorce papers Into Dominic’s paws as fast as I could.

I locked the bathroom door, leaning against it as I drew in a trembling breath. My hands trembled as I punched in the lawyer’s number, but it went to voicemail. Damn it. I pounded my fist against my thigh in frustration as I typed out a text.
