Ryan wanted to post the videos online to
prove he’d never abused me and that it was
all an act.
Hazel didn’t let him.
Because the videos were fake. As soon as
they were posted, people would figure it out.
Hazel said that the reporters would accuse
him of making fake evidence.
Ryan hated me more and more.
He had me move into the storage room that
none of the staff wanted to live in.
The storage room wasn’t very big, and it
didn’t even have windows.
It was dark in there.
Ryan only brought me to the guest room
when his grandma came to visit.
Ryan’s grandma brought me gifts, expensive
things.
But Hazel took them all.
She said I was a cheap harlot and didn’t
deserve the things, and she told my son to
curse at me.
“Whore!”
“You are a whore! You’re not my mom.”
Hazel had brainwashed Leo.
I forced a smile when he cursed at me.
What was it like to hear your own child call
you a whore?
Did it hurt?
I asked myself.
My heart had been through hell. It hurt to hear
my son say those words.
<
But Hazel wanted to see me hurt.
“Whore, I didn’t know you could cry. I thought
you had forgotten how.”
My best friend from college came from out of
the country to see me.
She had seen the news and thought that I
was being abused.
Even though Ryan had held a press.
conference and said that I had a self–harm
problem caused by a long illness.
My friend was a lawyer. She had seen
everything. She didn’t believe what Ryan said.
She came back to find out the truth.
She was just as shocked when she saw me.
Tears fell from her face.
I had no expression, staring at her calmly.
“Blair, what happened to you? Talk to me! It’s
Anya!”
I was expressionless, not saying anything.
She started to cry. “Don’t scare me, okay?”
く
She started to cry. “Don’t scare me, okay?”
“What happened? Tell me, please!”
She shook my body, trying to wake me up.
I wanted to tell her, but why did it take so
much effort to say a single word?
My pale lips moved, but tears came out
before I could speak.
