Chapter 4
After returning to the hospital room, Harper stopped mentioning switching hospitals for a reexamination. Instead, she urged Grace to abort the baby.
Jayden was furious about being deceived for no reason, his expression so fierce he looked ready to devour someone. If we weren’t in a hospital with so many outsiders around, I had no doubt he would have beaten Harper and Grace senseless.
After Harper left, I tried to remove the crystal bracelet from my wrist, only to discover it was clinging to my hand like it had claws. No matter how hard I pulled, I couldn’t get it off.
I suddenly became frightened, knowing it had to be Harper’s “uterus exchange system” at work. But as long as I understood the nature of this thing, finding a way to break it shouldn’t be too difficult.
I spent a lot of money to find an exorcist named Nicholas Brown who specialized in energy crystals. The moment he saw the bracelet on my hand, Nicholas immediately frowned.
He said, “This bracelet of yours is no ordinary piece. Whoever designed this trap to frame you is truly vicious. Lucky you found me, or you wouldn’t even be able to keep your life!”
Nicholas saw through the bracelet’s secret at a glance. I didn’t hide anything and told him directly that I had already died once.

I nodded without hesitation. In this lifetime, I absolutely couldn’t walk down the same path as my previous life. As for Grace, she could only blame herself for giving birth to a daughter like Harper.
Nicholas took out a pointed hammer and struck hard, shattering the red crystal in the center of the bracelet. I immediately felt my whole body relax.
To avoid arousing Harper’s suspicion, I deliberately spent $100 to buy a red crystal that supposedly helped with academics and replaced it on the bracelet. Unless you looked carefully, you couldn’t tell the difference at all.
As I was leaving, Nicholas said, “When someone goes to great lengths to accomplish something, it’s definitely to gain some kind of benefit.”
I wanted to ask more, but Nicholas wouldn’t say anything else.
On the way back to school, I felt completely relaxed.
Now Harper could no longer harm me at all. Moreover, as long

as she got pregnant, both she and Grace might be affected. Based on my experience from my previous life, I knew these embryos couldn’t survive at all and would eventually miscarry.
But what did Nicholas mean by that last comment?
