Harper stayed with Grace in the operating room for a full 8 hours before the two fetuses in Grace’s womb were completely removed. Despite the doctor’s best efforts, Grace was left with serious complications.
When Grace came out of the hospital room, her face was as pale
as paper.
The doctor repeatedly warned Harper: “Her body will never be able to conceive again. You must be very careful about this. For the next six months, it’s best if she avoids any sexual activity.”
Harper nodded in agreement, but his eyes were dark and unreadable, lost in thought.
Since Jayden refused to take care of Grace, Harper took a week off to go home and care for her recovery.
Not having to see Harper for a week, and not having to listen to her romantic adventures with different guys, made me quite happy.
However, Grace’s two consecutive pregnancies and miscarriages couldn’t be kept secret. Her relatives and friends began speculating that Grace might have secretly found herself a man on the side, becoming some other man’s mistress.
The rumors grew more and more outrageous. Eventually, some

people even suggested that Harper might not be Jayden’s biological child.
Jayden was furious and insisted on divorcing Grace. Their family was in complete chaos.

Because of this situation, Harper had to extend his leave to stay home and deal with the family crisis.
We all thought that after this incident, Harper would tone it down a bit and stop frantically dating new boyfriends.
However, to our surprise, on Harper’s first day back at school, she brought a new boyfriend with her.
She bragged to us: “This is the handsome guy who sells barbecue at the school gate. How about it? Isn’t he good–looking? For the next few days, I’m treating you all to barbecue.”
That evening, Harper really did bring us a whole table full of barbecue takeout. But she made one request – she wanted us to go stay somewhere else so she and her new boyfriend could role–play in the dorm.
Suddenly, the barbecue didn’t seem so appetizing anymore, and we absolutely refused to leave.
Seeing our firm stance, Harper had to abandon the idea.
Luna couldn’t help but advise her: “Harper, we’re roommates,

so I’m telling you this out of genuine concern. Even if this lifestyle won’t get you pregnant, it’s still going to affect your health. You have no way of guaranteeing that these men don’t have diseases.”
Harper rolled her eyes and said: “You’re just jealous that I’m popular and have guys chasing after me. You’re all virgins who’ve never been in relationships.”
Just then, Harper’s phone rang. It was our teacher Jonathan Ross calling.
It turned out that Jonathan had also heard about Harper’s “glorious achievements” of frequently changing boyfriends, so he specifically called to advise her to tone it down.
Harper showed Jonathan no respect at all, calling him backward–minded before hanging up on him.
Jonathan was furious and directly deducted points from Harper’s grade.
Just then, Carter walked over. Harper immediately put on a pitiful expression and threw herself into Carter’s arms.
She said: “Carter, Charlotte is bullying me. She actually tattled to Jonathan, making him call specifically to scold me and dock my credits.”
I was completely confused. What did this have to do with me?

With tears in her eyes, Harper said: “If you hadn’t told Jonathan, how would he have known I change boyfriends frequently? You must be jealous of me, that’s why you tattled to Jonathan.”
I was speechless. Did this even need tattling? She changed boyfriends as frequently as changing clothes. Who at school – teachers and students alike – didn’t know about it?
What I didn’t expect was that Carter, that brainless fool, actually believed Harper’s words. He said to me: “Charlotte, don’t be so jealous. If you keep this up, I’m going to tell your parents.”
I ignored Carter. But he actually did call my parents.
My parents then called me asking: “Carter says you’re bullying your roommate at school. Is this true? You must maintain good relationships with the people around you, especially your roommates. You can’t let your relationships get strained! Do you need us to come over and help explain things?”
Since childhood, my parents have always doted on me, constantly worried that I wouldn’t eat well or dress warmly enough at college. I was afraid of worrying them, so I only ever told them good news, never the bad.
Carter’s words would make my parents worry for a long time, keeping them awake many nights.
