Chapter 10
The elevator stopped at the first floor, where we ran into Charlotte.
The moment I saw Charlotte, I let go of Seth’s hand.
I did not mind if it was anyone else, but in front of Charlotte, I felt somewhat awkward about the fact that I had “snagged” her brother.
Fortunately, Seth only gave me a quiet glance before striking up a conversation with Charlotte about other topics.
I chimed in occasionally. As we chatted, Charlotte nudged Seth aside to show me some gossip on her phone.
Seth suddenly spoke up. “Char.”
“What?” Charlotte replied impatiently.
Seth asked, “Do you know what I did today?”
Charlotte looked bewildered. “Do I have to know it?”
Remembering the document Seth had “accidentally” dropped earlier, I sensed trouble brewing and was about to interrupt.
Nonetheless, Seth had already pulled out the marriage certificate.
He examined it under the elevator light, completely capturing Charlotte’s attention.
Meanwhile, I covered my face.
That was when I heard Charlotte’s shocked cry. “You two got married?!”
