Catherine’s POV
When I heard the doorbell ring, 1 felt that my heart skipped a beat.
Then I heard the kids shooting, “Mommy, open the door.”
I breathed a sigh of relief and opened the door. “You guys?”
The kids were carrying a pile of decorations. Felix stood behind them, holding two large boxes. He poked his head out and said to me, “They’re off tomorrow, so we decided to throw an impromptu birthday party tonight.”
Birthday? I patted my head. “Oh, I’m so sorry, kids. I can’t believe I forgot about your birthday, I’m such a terrible mother.‘
