Chapter 6
Charlie was tense all over, his clenched fists bulging with veins, and his pair of crimson eyes glaring at the two people like a predator.
Davin was startled and was about to curse when he saw that it was Charlie. He immediately jumped off the bed, crawling and rolling on the ground, trembling uncontrollably. “Mr. Collier, you misunderstood. The person who saved you is Cassidy. I was just, just joking with Cassidy.”
Listening to his lame excuses, Charlie forcefully closed his eyes, enveloped in an eerie silence.
“Bone breaker! How dare you!
He suddenly pulled out the gun from his waist and fired two shots, hitting Dwin’s knees with a bang.
Davin rolled on the ground in pain, while Charlie crouched down and grabbed his neck, squeezing out each word from between his teeth, “Who exactly saved me back then? Tell me clearly!”
“Charlie, Davin, and Fiona were having an affair, which I just found out. He had just threatened me, you need to kill him quickly…”
“Bang…”
The bullet grazed Cassidy’s face and embedded itself in the wall behind her.
Charlie turned his head, ignoring her terrified pale face. There was no trace of tenderness and compassion in his eyes anymore, instead, they were filled with a horrifying intent to kill. “If you dare to mention my wife again, I will kill you.”
Davin knew that a great disaster was coming, and he thought about how he ended up in this situation all because of Cassidy. This woman, who he had done everything for, had actually turned her back on him and even had the audacity to try and blame him for everything.
He gritted his teeth and clung to Charlie’s pants with his broken leg, crying like a drowned dog. “Mr. Collier, I was wrong. It was that bitch Cassidy who seduced me and encouraged me to lie. Eight years ago, it was Fiona who saved you. She broke two ribs to save you and had a crescent–shaped birthmark on her right shoulder for a month. She lay in the hospital for two months. After Cassidy found out, she deliberately got an identical birthmark. She was impersonating her.”

“Mr. Collier, it was I who was foolishly deceived by this wretched person. That day in the alley, it was also her who insulted Fiona, calling her a bitch and her child a bastard 1 was wrong. I know I was wrong. Mr. Collier, please spare my life!
Charlie quickly caught on to the phrase illegitimate child. She knew that Cassidy was pregnant with Fiona Hodge’s baby, so she couldn’t possibly claim that her own child was illegitimate.
What he thought made his head feel like it had been hit with a club, and his hands started trembling uncontrollably. “The baby in Fiona’s belly isn’t Cassidy’s embryo?”
Davin shook his head repeatedly, grasping at a lifeline, “Mr. Collier, the child in Fiona’s belly is yours. Cassidy changed her mind at the last minute and said that when Fiona is close to giving birth, she will let the child die in the womb. At that time, she will tell you that Fiona found out the truth about the test tube and intentionally killed the child. She will then cry to you, provoking you to kill Fiona in a lit of rage.”
“It was all Cassidy’s idea. It has nothing to do with me, Mr. Collier, spare ine, please
Cassidy beard Davin badmouthing her, so she stopped pretending to be sick and jumped out of bed to punch and kick him.
Davin’s leg was broken, but he had immense strength. He grabbed Cassidy’s hair and threw her to the ground.
The two of them instantly wrestled into a ball, fighting and cursing at the same time, revealing all the dirty things they had done over the past few years.
They wished to put the blame on the other party.
Charlie listened more and more despairingly, his whole heart feeling like it had been pierced by sharp blades, causing him to sob in pain.
Three years ago, Fiona was his true love, and he had six children of his own
He was in so much pain that he could hardly bear it, and he roared while firing several shots.
The people outside the door rushed in and were all frightened by the scene in front of them.

In bed, his phone vibrated.
Cassidy, who had been shot but hadn’t fainted yet, screamed to snatch it.
Charlie was kicked over by a foot.

He quickly snatched the phone, thinking it was my message. Just as he opened it, the smile on his face froze.
In the video, I was lifted high by someone and thrown into the crocodile pool.
“As you wished, the fish was fed.”
“No.” he groaned in pain, only to discover upon exiting that there was a message of es

and Cassidy’s response.
He couldn’t care less about anger, hastily dialed the phone, the man who had never changed his expression amidst the gunfire, was now trembling all over with a pale face. As soon as the call was connected, he immediately pleaded, “One billion, no, twenty billion, I’ll give it to you, all of it, save my wife right away, immediately!”
There was a short, mocking laugh on the phone.
Charlie immediately had two billion transferred.
With his subordinates blocking the way, “Mr. Collier, this is all the liquid cash we have on hand. Bradley is cunning and Mrs. Collier may not be in his possession. It’s possible that he is deceiving us. We should investigate first….
“Go away
Charlie roared and without hesitation, transferred the money.
In less than a minute, Bradley Mueller sent a few words, “Sorry, Mr. Collier, it was you who said to feed the fish, but you changed your mind too slowly. The bones have been gnawed clean, and I only found a shoe. In consideration of the twenty billion, I have already had it packaged and sent back to you.”
Charlie ser paralyzed on the ground, his whole body frozen.
The blood–stained shoes were quickly delivered, along with the divorce agreement I had left behind and the injury examination report from eight years ago, all brought by my subordinates.
Charlie held himself in his arms, completely distraught, going crazy as he cried and laughed.

Borders team.
At that time, I had already left Catarre and, with the help of Grayson Warner, boarded the plane of the Doctors
When I woke up, my companions around me were overjoyed “Fiona, you finally woke up. How does your leg feel? Luckily, we have our s Grayson here. Grayson has already removed the nail, so your leg, is saved.
surgical genius
Looking at the bandaged legs and the concern in Grayson’s eyes, I felt guilty and ashamed.
Back then, I was the most promising surgeon, and I had a group of like–minded companions by my side.
At the peak of my career, I chose a man and gave up my future.
My friends, although they were regretful, also blessed me.
Especially Grayson, I still remember the frustration in his eyes, as if he hated that he couldn’t turn iron into steel.
Now I find myself in such a miserable situation, and it is only them who did not abandon me, but also helped me escape from the cage
Everyone in the cabin had kindness and understanding on their faces.
I burst into tears of joy, “I’m sorry, everyone. I will never leave the team again in the future. I want to travel around the world with all of you and unleash my true potential.”
Grayson held a handkerchief and wiped my tears. “Fiona, it is an honor for our team to have you back. You don’t need to blame yourself. You have always been the best.”
Someone smirked and said, “Grayson is the happlest now that Fiona has returned Thankfully, Grayson patiently waited for you all these years, remaining single.”
I looked at Grayson in astonishment, and he blushed slightly as
y as he pursed his lips. “It was my business that I liked you. You don’t have to feel burdened. I respect all your decisions.”
“There is one more thing,” he hesitated and looked at me, “I’m sorry, Fiona. Your child was crushed during the diving journey and couldn’t be saved.”
Touched my stomach in contusion.
Let out a sigh for this short–lived little life, it’s better to leave. From now on, I will completely cut ties with Charlie and have no more involvement.
Afterwards, I and my team wholeheartedly dedicated ourselves to the rescue efforts, shuttling between countries engulfed in war, and managed to save a considerable number of people on the brink of death with our meager strength.

The children made flower wreaths for me, and the adults prepared delicious food and clothes within their means.
We gathered around the bonfire, in the brief lull after the war had subsided, still singing and praying for the hope that remained alive.
These heartfelt gestures gave me immense satisfaction.
In just two short years, I finally felt like I was truly alive.
What I didn’t expect was that one day I would still be able to see Charlie.
