Taking control of the wheelchair herself, Victoria lowered her head, She used her long hair as a curtain to obscure her face, hoping to exit the medical center before the enforcers discovered her absence.
As she approached the main entrance, Victoria accelerated the wheelchair. Her heart pounded with each rotation of the wheels as freedom beckoned.
But just steps away from the exit, a familiar figure suddenly blocked her path. Olivia Winters stood there, whose keen Luna instincts had sensed something amiss.
Olivia had noticed Victoria the moment she appeared in the lobby. She recognized her despite the injuries and observed her nervous, furtive behavior as she desperately tried to reach the exit.
Arting on pure instinct, Olivia stepped forward and blocked Victoria’s escape route. Her emerald eyes blazed with cold determination.
Seeing Olivia standing before her, Victoria’s expression transformed instantly from desperation to pure hatred. At this moment, the last wolf she wanted to encounter was her rival.
For Olivia to witness her tortured by Connor Blackthorn and personally delivered to the enforcers by Ethan–how smug the true Luna must feel. Victoria’s rage overtook her caution as she attempted to ram Olivia with the wheelchair, using it as a weapon.
Olivia reacted with the enhanced reflexes of a Luna. She stepped aside gracefully and delivered a precise kick to the wheelchair’s side as Victoria charged past.
The wheelchair lost balance and toppled over, sending Victoria crashing to the medical center floor. Just as she struggled to regain her footing, a large boot stepped firmly on her back.
The pressure reopened the freshly sutured wounds and drew a cry of pain from her lips. It was Ethan Stone, who had arrived at the medical center just in time.
Simultaneously, the Northern Territory Enforcers had realized Victoria had escaped through the contaminated exit. They immediately contacted Ethan’s security detail to search the medical facility and reviewed the surveillance footage.
Seeing that Victoria was heading toward the main entrance, they gave immediate chase. Their boots echoed through the corridors as they pursued their escaped prisoner.
While Ethan released the pressure from his boot, the Northern Territory Enforcers quickly subdued Victoria. They forced her to kneel in submission before Olivia Winters in the medical center lobby.
“Let me go!” Victoria refused to show such deference to her rival. She struggled violently against the enforcers‘ grip, her wolf snarling in humiliation.
To prevent Victoria from causing any further disruption or attempting another escape, Dr. Harrison Fletcher personally administered a powerful sedative. The drug was designed specifically for unruly werewolves.
Once Victoria was properly restrained with silver–lined handcuffs, she was placed back on the enforcement transport. She would be taken to the Northern Territory’s maximum security medical facility for continued treatment under heavy guard.
After Victoria was finally taken away under proper custody, Ethan immediately turned to Olivia. His amber eyes filled with urgent concern as he attempted to explain his actions.
“Olivia, please don’t misunderstand my intentions,” he said, his Alpha voice carrying desperate sincerity. “I asked Dr. Fletcher to save Victoria not because I still harbor any feelings for her, but because Connor Blackthorn has already handed over all the evidence of Victoria’s murder–for–hire schemes.”
His voice grew stronger with conviction as he continued. “I’ve already given that evidence to the Northern Territory Enforcers. With concrete proof of her crimes, Victoria will face the full punishment of pack law.”
Ethan’s eyes flashed with the cold justice of an Alpha King. “Saving her life was only because I believed death would be too merciful an escape for her. I’ll have Daniel Reed ensure she receives a life sentence without the possibility of parole,”
His voice dropped to a dangerous growl as he concluded. “Victoria killed our daughter Lily and Grandmother Evelyn. I intend to make her remaining years a living
bell behind silver bars.”
