She stands, walking to the door. “Good night, Sebastian.”

When she’s gone, I lean back against the couch. How can I want her so desperately and still feel so guilty about wanting her at the same time? Hell week, indeed.

Liam asked if we could meet before class tomorrow night so he could get a head start on learning my body. I agreed to meet with him but told him. if he did anything to make me uncomfortable, it would be the last time.

I knock on his door. When he opens it, he looks distracted.
“Come in, Luna. I put a blanket on the bed hoping that will make it a bit more comfortable for you,” he says.

I look around. His room is messy, but not the worst I’ve ever seen.
“Oh, you got your clothes today,” I say, noticing the partially unpacked. box of clothes.
“Yeah, no more pink,” he says, running his fingers through his hair.
“Liam, are you okay?” I ask.
“Yeah. You can lie down if you’re ready,” he says. “I can turn down the lights to help you relax,” he says.
“If it makes you uncomfortable to do this here, we can go to the classroom. It’s always available for practice.”
“No, it’s okay, Luna. Unless you want to,” he says, looking at me.
“No, I’m fine,” I say. I take off my robe and lie down, but something is off with Liam..
“Okay, so, I’d like your permission to use my hands and mouth on you, Luna,” he says.
“You have my permission, Liam.”
“Thank you, Luna.”
He begins massaging my arms and shoulders, but something is still off. He’s not usually this tentative. I open my eyes and see him staring across the room. It’s not that I’m disappointed that he’s not ogling me, but in my experience, when a young Alpha sees his partner naked for the first time, they take in her body.
“Liam,” I say gently.
His eyes flash to mine. “Too hard?”
“Liam, what’s wrong?”
He stops and looks at me and something close to torment flashes across his face.
“Who said anything was wrong?” he says, but I hear the catch in his
voice.
I sit up, pulling my robe on and look at him.
“What’s happened?” I ask him.
He clenches his jaw, the muscle jumping as his adam’s apple bobs while he tries to gain control of his emotions.
He gets up and goes to the desk in his room, coming back and handing me a card. I look at him, but he turns away from me, walking to the other side of the room.
I open it and begin reading.
“Why am I not surprised that my fuck up of an heir can’t even do the job of an omega. How the fuck do you plan to take over this pack when you can’t do anything right?
Don’t ask me for anything again and if you don’t pass the Academy, don’t bother coming home.

I read the words twice, feeling pain for this young Alpha. What kind of a father talks to his son like this?
“Liam, come sit,” I tell him, patting the bed beside me. He turns and now the tormented look makes perfect sense.

“Come sit,” I say again.
He does, sitting beside me and putting his head in his hands.
I lean against him. “Wanna know what I think?” I ask softly.
He nods but doesn’t look up at me.
“I think your father is an idiot.”
His head turns up to look at me. “What?”
“He’s an idiot. Liam, I hadn’t even known you a week, but I saw something in you that made me want to give you a chance to redeem yourself after you fucked up. If your father can’t see that there is so much more to you than what you show on the surface, then he’s stupid. You have a chance to become an incredible Alpha, Liam. Don’t strive to be like your father,” I say, lifting the card. “Be better than him. It won’t be that hard.”
