Chapter 15
From Ivy’s point of view, Logan marrying Stella was a fact that would materialize sooner or later.
“That Logan jerk! Is he trying to practice polygamy? Two–timing?” Ivy started to mentally scold Logan again.
“Very well, today is another day to be disgusted by Logan Clarke,” her thoughts continued to flow.
Stella’s anger faded, and she broke into a wide smile. “Thanks for the suggestion. I was wondering about the fact that Logan could risk his life and shield me, yet he wasn’t willing to take some time and choose you a present.” She scoffed. “It looks like you’re becoming a joke.”
“Hmm, I see you’ve decided to show your true colors?” Ivy said as she lazily laid back in her chair.
“Why do I need a man to buy me a gift when I can buy it on my own? You seem very proud?” Ivy continued.
“Don’t bother with that hater. She’s just jealous. Get married to that jerk, Logan, soon. A.S.A.P., I beg you.” Skylar came back. Stella felt embarrassed and ran away.
Then, the waitress stopped her when she was at the exit. “Miss, you have not paid the bill.”
Stella’s face turned red. Then, it became pale before she walked toward the counter to pay.
The cashier smiled at her. “Miss, your total is $5,300. You may pay using your digital wallet, credit card, or cash.”
Stella froze when she heard that the amount was $5,300. She had just bought a designer purse for over $2,000,000. Plus, she had not earned a cent from the charity group this month.
Her card balance was possibly not more than $4,000.
“My phone battery just died—” Before she could continue, the cashier took out multiple types of charging cables and said, “Miss, we have all types of charging cables. There must be one suitable for your phone model.”
Stella was speechless.
Ivy and Skylar were almost done with their meal, so they decided to leave. They had no interest in Stella’s issue.
While they were leaving, Stella called out to them, “Could you pay the bill for me first? I’ll return the money to you once I’m back home.”
Skylar handed his card to the cashier and paid his bill, so Stella set her sights on Ivy. “Could you please pay the bill for me? I’ll return the money to you once I get back home.”
Ivy shrugged. “No, I’m poor, and I have no money.”
Everyone at the restaurant looked at Stella after they heard Ivy’s reply. All the clothing and accessories that Stella wore from head to toe were of luxury brands, especially the ring on her finger. It dazzled brilliantly.
Stella gave Skylar a sad and aggrieved look.
“Ew, I am going to puke! I am harder to deal with than Ives. How dare you come to me?” Skylar thought.
“I am poor too,” he said.
“That’s crap! You have 11 digits of savings on your card! If you’re called poor, then what are we?” the cashier quietly thought.
“She’s just a young lady who’s asking for help. You guys should go ahead and help her,” a voice rang out from behind.
It was a young boy who seemed to be in his twenties. His hair was dyed blonde, and he was not bad–looking.
He walked over and turned to Ivy. “It is not like she’s not returning the money anyway. Why don’t you…”
He swallowed the remainder of his sentence when he saw Ivy and changed his expression. He smiled and said, “I suppose it’s your choice to decide whether to help or not. As the saying goes, ‘stranger danger.’ You should be careful.”

Chapter 15
“My gosh! How can she be so gorgeous! She looks like an angel! I like her!” the boy thought.
His rapid change made the crowd speechless.
Skylar glanced at Stella’s necklace and said, “That thing on your neck looks valuable. Why don’t you pay the bill with that? You can come back tomorrow with cash and get it back, can’t you?”
“No.” Stella grasped the necklace tightly. “It’s a gift from my boyfriend.”
“That’s funny. Logan Clarke just had a divorce with my sister. When did he become your boyfriend?” Skylar sneered.
“Well, you can say that the lady here and I are not really strangers. We’ve met a couple of times since my ex–husband used to send her gifts pretty often. Tsk,” Ivy said.
The siblings echoed each other and left after saying those words.
The boy was stunned. He looked in Stella’s direction and thought,
Andrew laid back on the couch and said, “You’ve always looked down on Benjamin, but you should learn from him.”
“Learn what?”
Lea
Andrew grinned. “To be shameless.”
Logan was speechless. He could not do it.
He took a deep breath. “Before this, I thought she would play hard to get with me. Now, she doesn’t even bother to put on a facade, much less waste time playing some silly game with me.”
He knew himself too well.
Logan stared blankly at the wine bottles on the table, and the corners of his eyes reddened. He fell into silence for a moment. Then, he made a decision. “I will never pay attention to her anymore.”
Since a young age, he had always been the spoiled one. After marriage, his wife had spoiled him too. Unexpectedly, his wife had just been acting in front of him. Reality hit him hard, hard enough to shatter his heart.
“Please, she’s the one who doesn’t want to pay attention to you.” Henry waved his hand, pulling his leg.
“This time, it will be different. I won’t go to her anymore.”
Andrew waited for a while. He fixed his eyes on Logan and said, “That’s it?”
“Should there be anything more?” Henry looked in his direction and asked.
“Shouldn’t you add the consequences of you breaking your promise behind that sentence? Like, if you find her again, you’ll be a dog, or you’ll get struck by lightning? Something like that?” said Andrew.
Henry clapped his hands. “I see! Does my dear princeling plan to change his mind?”
Logan immediately said, “If I pay any attention to her or go and find her again, I’ll get struck by thunder and die!”
“Please don’t. Dying is too much. Why not change it to, you’ll never find her anymore, or else you’re a dog!”
They both believed that Logan would still go back to Ivy.
Logan took some time to collect himself. “From now on, I will take care of myself properly and have a healthy routine! I will prove it with my actions. Without Ivy, I can have a better life,” he told himself.
At that very moment he made his decision, his phone rang.
It was Skylar.
“It’s your ex–brother–in–law calling you. First time, eh?”
It was indeed a rare occasion.

Logan froze for three seconds. Then, he picked up the phone and answered the call.
“President Clarke, where are you?” Skylar asked directly.
Logan told him his location.
“President Clarke, stay there and wait for me. I will be there A.S.A.P,” Skylar hung up after saying so.
Logan was curious about Skylar’s intention.
“He won’t come and beat you up, right?” Henry picked up his coat and thought of running away. “You better watch out. Skylar’s really good at fighting. I’ll take my leave. You take care, and best of luck!”
Andrew grabbed him instantly. “Why are you such a scaredy–cat? His main target is Logan. He won’t waste his energy on you.”
Henry put down his coat and took a seat leisurely. “Then, I’m safe,” he said.
The truth was, Skylar was in a bad mood. The incident that happened in the restaurant kept bothering him. It stirred up his emotions and and made him restless.
He had tossed about in bed and still been unable to sleep. So, he gave Logan a call.
Skylar later arrived at Neptune Bar.
He saw all the empty bottles on the table at first glance.
He put his jacket over his arm and sat opposite the men.
“Are you curious about why I’m here?” Skylar gazed at Logan. Logan’s face had the usual indifferent expression.
“So this is the expression you wear to treat Ives.” Skylar got angrier when that thought struck him.
