Chapter 16
“It’s late. Aren’t you supposed to be sleeping right now?” Logan asked. Skylar was only 23 years old that year, which was a few years younger than him. Hence, Logan thought that sleeping early would be better for his health at that age.
“I can’t sleep. I’m in a bad mood.” Skylar stared at him and continued, “So, I’ve come here to tell you a few things.”
“About what?”
Skylar raised his head slightly. “Let me think of what I should say. Which should I start with?”
He took approximately one minute to think. Then, he looked at Logan and said, “I think, for today, I should start with the incident that happened on 23rd May last year.”
Henry and Andrew were confused.
“This boy is incredible! How could he remember the date of the incident so clearly?” they thought.
“On the 23rd of May last year? What happened?” Logan was slightly confused. He never paid attention to things that he felt were pointless.
Skylar scoffed. “Of course you don’t remember. What can you remember?”
“Logan’s brain is underdeveloped. What should I expect?” Skylar thought.
“That day, you brought a young model to a banquet. Until this day, I remember her name, Jojo. Do you know who she is?” Skylar asked.
Logan had no memory of it. He even suspected himself of having amnesia.
“I remember. Is it the famous model, Jojo, from Ever Models? She became popular for a while because the public saw her with you. Rumors said that she had the potential to enter the top runways, but it seemed like she disappeared a long time ago?” Henry was trying hard to recall more details about the young model. However, those pieces of information were all he had.
“Why do others always have a better memory than you, President Clarke?”
Logan glared at Henry with his ice–cold eyes. Henry coughed and turned his head away. “Fine, I’ll shut up. Logan’s so scary. He was so much cuter just now when he was crying. Why so fierce?” he grumbled in his head.
“Ever Model is a subsidiary of Gray Group. Ives was in charge of it.” Skylar paused for a moment and looked at Logan’s face. It wasn’t too good.”
Skylar continued, “Ives was Jojo’s boss. However, the scandal that you caused with her made her think that she could enter the top runway shows for sure. She lost all her senses, believing that you would support her anyhow. Do you know what she did?”
Skylar’s eyes reddened as he spoke. He collected himself before he resumed talking. “Jojo thought that she could become a regular model for top runway shows, so she wanted to quit the company. She even went to provoke Ives using your name.
“She went into Ives‘ office and made sarcastic comments about her. Jojo said that Ives was a useless woman just because she lost her man’s heart. She was also showing off what you had gotten her. I know Ives never cared about such stuff, but Jojo went overboard. She took a pail of cold water, which was for watering plants, and poured it on Ives.
“Did you know that Ives fell sick and had a high fever the next day? Only then did I find out what happened. I was with her in the hospital for four days. There wasn’t a single call or text from you. You didn’t even realize what had happened. Why don’t you just drop dead, Logan Clarke.”
Skylar was panting after telling Logan everything in one shot, but he felt much more at ease.
Andrew and Henry looked at each other and thought, “No wonder Skylar has always hated Logan. There’s a reason behind it.”
Even they felt uneasy after they listened to what Skylar had said. “I suppose Logan really deserves it,” they thought.
Logan lowered his eyes and clenched his fist very tightly, to the point that his knuckles turned white. He felt like he could not breathe and knives were stabbing his heart. He did not know about any of the things that Skylar had mentioned, and he had no memory of them.

“Yet, you want to remarry my sister? You don’t even deserve a home! You should be alone forever as you watch my sister get married and have a grand, beautiful wedding! You will see how well her future husband treats her and see them have children. You will see how she spends the rest of her life blissfully with the love of her life!”
Logan felt a lump in his throat and could not say a word, or rather, he did not dare to say a word.
“Sorry.” It seemed like that was the only thing he could say.
“It’s okay. You and my sister have divorced anyway. Of course, it’s okay.” Skylar sighed in relief. He looked at Logan and said, “Why? Are you unhappy?”
“How can Logan be happy after all this? I supposed he would rather die,” Henry and Andrew thought. Both of them felt speechless about Skylar’s question.
Suddenly, Skylar burst into laughter, “I’m so glad that you’re unhappy,” he said.
He stood up and glanced at Logan. “President Clarke, next time, when I’m in a bad mood, I’ll come to you again and tell you other stories. Please acknowledge that this is only the tip of the iceberg, “he said.
Skylar thought for a while, then said, “I should send you a menu next time. You can pick which story you want to hear. You choose, and I deliver. How about that?”
Logan’s face took on a ghastly expression, while Skylar’s smile grew wider. “Good night, President Clarke.”
All three men fell into deep silence after Skylar left the bar.
The thing was, Andrew and Henry did not know how to comfort Logan.
If they did try to comfort Logan, they would feel sorry for Ivy, and their conscience would bother them. Yet, they also could not ignore Logan because they knew how sensitive and fragile he was about love relationships.
“Um… Logan, forget it.” Henry hesitated for a moment. “Let her go?” Henry did not want to go against his conscience.
“I agree. You’ve just promised yourself anyway. You’ll get struck by lightning if you ever see her again,” Andrew added.
Logan stood up slowly and said, “Then let it strike me. Just let it strike me dead.”
After he finished his sentence, he walked out of the bar.
Henry rubbed the back of his neck and said, “He broke his promise way faster than I thought.”
“Well, he is our capricious princeling.” Andrew had foreseen it. He took his coat and said to Henry, “I’m going back.”

“If I were Ivy, it would be impossible for me to put up with him until now. I would have poisoned his meal long ago. Just you see!” Henry sighed again.
“Yes, I thought so too.”
At that instance, Henry’s body shivered, and he had goosebumps all over. “That voice sounds so familiar,” he thought.
It was Ivy.
“Why are you looking away from me?” Ivy moved and sat beside him. She rested her chin on her hand and smiled at him.
Henry forced a polite smile and raised his head. He did not know how to address her, but he knew he could never call her “sister–in–law” anymore. Otherwise, Ivy would tear him apart and turn him into soup.
“1–I–Ivy.” He laughed awkwardly after calling her.
“Henry Shelton, why are you so afraid of me?” Ivy looked at him curiously.
Since she stopped acting with Logan, she noticed that Henry had always looked at her with fear. Most of the time, he did not even dare to look her in the eye.
“I–You’ve forgotten about me. I was lucky enough to be beaten up by you when I was a freshman back in the day. It was unforgettable.”

Chapter 16
Ivy took a while to ponder and said, “How come I don’t remember? Plus, I was still in high school when you were a freshman. How did we meet?”
Henry got very worked up when that incident was brought up. “It was all because of my dumba** cousin brother! He went home crying after you beat him up. I wondered which girl could be so badass to beat him so hard and make him cry like that. So, I went to check you out. It turned out that you thought I was his helper, and you knocked me out before understanding the situation.”
“Please don’t ask anymore,” Henry thought. The truth was when he saw Skylar’s fighting stance, he was so afraid that he could not care about Logan’s pain, only running away.
