“I…” She went silent.
Pierre sighed. “You thought I had a partner? And you didn’t want to ruin my relationship with my girlfriend?”
Ivy was speechless. He always knew what she was thinking. She could not keep any secrets from him.
“Who? Me and my imaginary girlfriend?” he quipped playfully.
“So why have you called me today?” she asked.
Pierre uttered an “uh–huh” before dragging his voice. “First, I learned that you got divorced. Second… you should congratulate me. I’ve managed to open up the market overseas, and I’m preparing to come back.”
“Wow, awesome. Not bad!” That was, I guess, what you called an elite.
“So, you don’t plan on treating me to a meal to celebrate?” He laughed.
Ivy immediately said, “Sure, let’s go get a good one!”

Pierre came back three days after he called her.
Originally, Ivy had wanted to go and pick him up, but since he never told her when he would be coming back, she just let it be.
However, she did not expect that the moment Pierre touched down, he would go straight to the Gray mansion.
Pierre had a good relationship with the Grays, and they knew Ivy had a friend called Pierre. He had also visited their mansion often for meals.
Arthur Gray and Grace Porter had already gone out to travel, so Ivy and Skylar were the only ones in the Gray mansion, excluding the few maids they employed.
Pierre’s plane arrived at ten in the morning, and it happened to be a weekend so Skylar was also at home.
When he saw Pierre, he was stunned for a moment. For a person he had not seen for three years to suddenly appear before him, it felt somewhat unreal.
“Pierre, you’re back.” Skylar rushed over the moment he saw Pierre, as though he just spotted his idol.
To date, Skylar would only lose his calm over two people whenever he saw them. The first person was Pierre, while the second was Logan.
The moment he saw Pierre, he would be ecstatic, and the moment he saw Logan, he would be pissed.
After all, Pierre was the dream of many a youngster. He was good at fighting, scarily good. He knew how to ride a bike, and had knowledge of everything. Plus, he was easy to get along with. Compared with Logan, who was not fond of expressing himself, the difference was like heaven and earth.
Skylar paused for a bit. D*mn it, how could he compare Pierre to a scumbag like Logan?
However, he had been running into Logan rather frequently of late, so that was why he thought of the latter.
Now, he only wanted to say something, “Ah, my days of youth have returned!
“Pierre, you’re the best!”
“Sky, long time no see.” His smile bore a tinge of boyishness to it, yet it was still extremely elegant.
Meanwhile, Skylar dissed Logan in his heart again. He really wanted Logan to see what a perfect man was like.
“Pierre, if you were coming back today, we could’ve picked you up.” Ivy looked at the man before her. He seemed to have matured in the three years that they had not seen each other, yet it also looked like nothing about him had changed.

It was very strange indeed.

“Rather than you purposely making the trip, I might as well come here uninvited.”
It happened that he had arrived during lunchtime, so they added another plate to the table.
At the dining table, he suddenly brought Logan up, and a pained look appeared on Skylar’s face. “Pierre, can you not mention that star of misfortune’s name during a meal?”
“What’s wrong with Logan?” He looked at Ivy.
Skylar listed everything that Logan had done over the years with a generous sprinkle of salt and spices.
“Skylar, you’re exaggerating, right?” Pierre could tell when he heard it. Then he continued, “Although I’m not familiar with Logan, I don’t think he would go that far. Otherwise, I would not have allowed Puffy here to…”
Before he finished speaking, he laughed as he saw Ivy look at him with a dumbfounded expression. He coughed and continued, “If he was really a b*stard of that level, I would not have allowed Ivy to marry him. Yes, I would have gotten Ivy someone better to marry.”
Skylar suddenly fell silent. He actually wanted to ask Pierre why he did not ask Ivy to be his wife back then, especially when they had been together for so long…
However, he knew that love was something personal, so he did not need to pry too much into it. Hence, he had never mentioned it, asked about it, or forced it.
“In any case, Logan is a scumbag.”
“I can tell from your tone.” Pierre smiled. He paused for a bit and curiously asked, “I did wonder about your divorce. How did you get him to agree?”
Speaking of that, Ivy smiled awkwardly. “Ah… that…”
Pierre raised his eyebrows as if he understood something.
“I lied to him by saying that I was going to be a bridesmaid for a good friend so I couldn’t be married. He believed me and I got the divorce.” She shrugged.
Pierre lowered his gaze and pursed his lips as he heard the last bit. He knew that if Logan did not like Ivy, why would he believe what she said.
“And he’s still trying to win you back?”
When he mentioned that, Skylar erupted. “Win her back? He clearly wants to kill Ivy. They were married for three years and he had no idea that she was allergic to pollen. He won her a trip to the hospital, alright.
Arghh!!!
“That’s indeed a bit too much. How about this, let’s find someone to beat him up
someday?” He looked at Ivy.
Skylar was stunned. Were things that straightforward now?
Before Ivy could speak, he continued, “Then… I’ll do it myself?”
“Forget it. I ain’t sending food to you in jail,” Ivy said with good cheer,
They then finished their meal amidst laughter.
“Everything changes with time, and I wonder how the old city looks like now.
“Tomorrow’s Monday. Are you free to take me out sightseeing?” Pierre asked Ivy.
In reality, he was not asking. He knew that even if Ivy had no time, she would still make the time to show him the old city.
“Of course.” Ivy did not have much, but she had plenty of time and money.

Pierre nodded. “I’ll be heading back first then. I need to unpack and stuff since I’m finally back.”
After he left, Skylar approached Ivy and asked, “Ivy, do you like Pierre or not?”
Ivy rolled her eyes at her baby brother. “Let me ask you, do you love Pearce?”
Skylar was speechless. “How is that the same? Pearce is a guy!”
“It’s the same when it comes to love. How you feel about Pearce is how Pierre feels about me. Of course, it’s the same for me.” She smiled.

Skylar was stunned. He thought that since Pierre was back now, they could be together. He did not at all expect things to be so different from what he had anticipated.
He even felt that Ivy would remarry Logan after his persistent harassment…
No! Definitely not! Even if it was not Pierre, he was going to find Ivy a new boyfriend! As long as the person was not Logan Clarke.
It was the first time she had heard Skylar talking about her and Pierre. It felt a little humorous.
“I kind of like Pierre too, and I think he would make a good brother–in–law,” Skylar whispered.
“So you’ll fall in love with Pearce?” Ivy asked.
Skylar spat back. “Oh come on, don’t put me off like that. Just pretend like I didn’t say anything and treat me like I’m a mute, okay?”
Ivy stretched her hand out and ruffled Skylar’s hair.
