Chapter 3
Of course, Henry just felt bad for Ivy. It was not as if he wanted the both of them to fight for real.
“I heard from Andrew that you’ve been acting like someone owes you a few billion dollars these days. So, what exactly is the problem?” Henry peeled an apple and ate it while he looked at Logan.
There was no change in Logan’s cold expression even after an hour of Henry’s arrival.
It was obvious that Logan was displeased.
“I know that Ivy’s not the type to throw fits, but it’s been seven days since she last texted me.”
Hearing this, Henry almost choked on his apple.
He coughed whilst he laughed at Logan to the point of tearing up.
He quickly calmed down and asked Logan seriously, “If she hasn’t texted you, does that mean she hasn’t replied to your texts as well?”
The latter did not utter a word.
“Didn’t you text her?” Henry was shocked.
“No.”
Henry wanted to knock some sense into Logan. “Don’t you have hands? Can’t you just text her? Is it that hard for you to do that? I can’t believe a guy like you has a wife.”
“Why does a jerk like him get to have such a good wife but I don’t? It’s unfair!” Henry cried internally.
“Keep this up, and your wife will leave you one day,” he jinxed.
Logan was unhappy with what Henry said and was rather confident in himself. “There’s no way she’s going to leave me.”
Henry did not want to carry on with their quarrel. “Fine, you still have three more days anyway.”
After two hours of bickering, Henry had to go back to his office, and he left the hospital.
Logan recalled what Henry had mentioned earlier and became worried. “Should I text her?” he asked himself.
He wrote a few texts but kept deleting them halfway through. Right when he was about to hit the “send” button, he wondered, “Will she think that I’m controlling if I text her now? It hasn’t even been ten days yet.”
In the end, he decided not to text her, thinking that there were still three days left
The moment he thought that Ivy would come back to him after three days, all of his gloom vanished.
He had gotten so used to Ivy’s frequent text messages that he felt uncomfortable when they disappeared.
Logan had a hard time enduring the next three days without Ivy.
Soon, it was the tenth day.
Logan could finally be discharged today, and he could not help but feel excited when he imagined Ivy rushing back to see him.
“Logan, weren’t you in a hurry to get yourself discharged? Since you can do it today, aren’t you supposed to get back to your workplace?” Henry crossed his arms and looked at Logan who was still lying in bed in his hospital gown.
Andrew could not hold back his laughter. “What do you even know? He’s waiting for his wife to come back and help him get dressed. Otherwise, do you think he’d wait until 10.00 am?”
“Did Ivy tell you when she’ll be back?” Henry asked curiously.
Upon hearing this, Logan’s smile disappeared.

“No.”
Henry grabbed Andrew and resentfully said, “Can you believe him?”
Andrew looked at Logan. “Did you ask Ivy when she’ll be back then?”
Logan’s mood grew worse, and he answered in a cold voice, “No.”
Andrew wanted to punch him. “That’s your attitude while you wait for your wife’s return?!” he yelled at Logan in his mind.
guy’s just asking for it,” Henry said while he stopped Andrew from beating Logan up.
Just then, someone appeared at the door.
It was Stella. She was another typical docile lady, but she had a mature and charming look.
Andrew did not mind her personality, however, Henry never liked her one bit.
“Hey, Logie,” Stella called out as she brought a thermal flask in. She then smiled politely at both Henry and Andrew.
Logan was speechless. Hearing how Stella addressed him, he became even more annoyed. “Don’t I have a name?” Inside, Logan grumbled, “It’s not like I’m close with you.”
Stella was stunned. “Logie, are you in a bad mood? You were hurt because of me, but you didn’t let me take care of you. I’ve prepared another soup since you said that you didn’t like the one from yesterday. Try it,” she said.
Her tone gave Henry goosebumps and shivers.
“Logie, you guys carry on. I’ll get going.” Henry imitated Stella’s tone in a pretentious manner while he headed out the ward.
Seeing Henry leave, Andrew laughed awkwardly as well. “I’ll be going too. Take care.”
Logan was left speechless. “Why are they acting so weird?” he wondered.
Eventually, Logan was discharged from the hospital before he could meet up with Ivy.
Later that day, Henry invited him to a spa center.
“Why are you guys here?” Logan was confused.
“We know you just got discharged from the hospital, so instead of taking you to a bar, we called you out to have a spa session. Aren’t we nice to you?” Henry smiled as he attempted to pat Logan on the shoulder, but he stopped when he considered his injury.
Logan was at a loss for words. “This is ridiculous,” he thought to himself.
The three men sat next to each other for a foot soak.
“Why are you still depressed after being with your girlfriend for the whole day?” Henry asked, thinking that he had not seen any other expressions on Logan’s face these few days.
“He probably didn’t get enough,” Andrew teased.
The both of them started laughing at their friend, whose expression became colder.
“Ivy will come back,” Logan insisted.
Henry whispered to Andrew, “He’s just trying to convince himself.”
“Would it kill you to text or call her?” Henry did not know what else to say.
Logan finally stopped resisting and sent Ivy a message after numerous times of deleting and editing his text drafts.
[How’ve you been doing lately?]
When Andrew saw his text, he laughed even harder.

However, Logan ignored him and stared at his own message for ten minutes. Yet, there were no replies from Ivy.
Seeing him in a dejected state, Andrew promptly comforted Logan. “Come on, you guys are already married to each other. Just because she doesn’t text you for days, doesn’t mean she’s gone. Even if she’s mad, she’ll come back after she calms down.”
“We got a divorce before she went away because she told me bridesmaids can’t be married,” Logan said.
Suddenly, the whole room became dead silent.
“Are you for real?” Henry asked in a serious voice. Andrew was stunned too.
Logan turned to them, feeling even more restless. “It’s okay, Ivy will come back since she loves me.” He kept convincing himself to calm his nerves.
“It’s not like I can’t do her this small favor. Plus, she came to the hospital early in the morning on that day to settle the divorce procedure in case someone found out. She even cried about wanting to stay and take care of me before leaving.” Logan tried to explain it to his friends to prove that Ivy still loved him.
Henry leaned back in his seat. “You guys are already separated, so stop pretending that you care. You were a jerk, in the first place.”
“He’s right, Logan. This divorce is exactly what you’ve wanted.” Andrew was in tune with Henry.
“What do you guys mean?” Logan frowned.
“Shut up, fool. You didn’t deserve Ivy but you still took her for granted. You were already willing to take a stab for Stella, so why are you still thinking of Ivy?”
