The forsaken Luna was given a second chance Ch 8

EPISODE 8

I called my son Caleb, and we had been living with the Moon Shard Pack ever since I woke up in this new life. Every morning, I still found myself in awe of how different this place was from where I had come from

The pack’s territory was nothing like the lands Seram ruled over of my past

The Moon Shard Pack was located on the far side of the continent, hidden away in the high terrains, nestled so close to the sky that the air itself seemed to hum with power. They said it was because we were near the dwelling of the Moon Goddess, and perhaps that was why I had been reborn here.

I was grateful.

Not only for my second chance, but for the chance to raise my son in such a place

The Moon Shard Pack was strong, perhaps even stronger than my former pack. But unlike the brute force and territorial aggression I had once known, this pack carried a mystical aura, an unshakable peace that made the air feel lighter

The lands flourished unnaturally well. The forests were always abundant, water always pure, and the fauna thrived as if spring never left. Wild animals, even those that strayed into the territory, never showed aggression, Some even became companions to the pack members, tamed without any training

As if they, too, had been blessed by the Moon Goddess

Other nearby packs respected the Moon Shard Pack, but not out of fear

It was a quiet, reverent respect, as if acknowledging something greater than themselves. There were no unnecessary fights, no power struggles Actually, they were the ones that were eager to form an alliance. The relationship between them and the Moon Shard Pack was built on mutual trust rather than coercion

I have come to love it here

Over time, I found myself integrating into the pack naturally. I took care of my son and assisted in daily pack duties, whether it was gathering herbs, preparing remedies, or helping the elderly. It gave me a purpose beyond survival.!!

It gave me peace.X

They were also very accepting. None of them cared where I came from. Actually, they were kind of worried since being reborn was not a chance to be given simply by the Moon Goddess. In their terms, I must have experienced something temble for the Goddess to intervene. But I assured them I am fine

Caleb was also growing well with a hint of similar mysticism to them

From the moment he was born, he seemed to be destined to become extraordinary. At first, it was small things, his heightened awareness, the way he never cried unless absolutely necessary, the sharp intelligence in his eyes even as an infant. Then, I started noticing the way his eyes would shift, glowing golden at times, a color too distinct, too powerful to ignore..

Signs of a Dominant Alpha

It wasn’t just me who noticed. The pack elders had seen it, too. But they never commented anything harsh on it. If anything, they were quite ecstatic at Caleb’s growth

The way he carried himself, the way he never backed down even in his childish games, the way other pups naturally followed his lead. It was in his blood. He was meant for greatness, for strength

And with each day, his resemblance to Seram grew stronger

The sharp curve of his jawline, the way his golden eyes narrowed when he was deep in thought, even the stubborn set of his shoulders, all mirrored the man I had once called my mate. The man who had cast me aside

But I did not despise Caleb for it

He was still a child born from a love that had once existed, even if that love had withered into nothingness. And I would love him forever

It had been five years since I arrived here, and that morning, like any other, I woke up to the sound of laughter outside. Stepping out, I saw Caleb playing on the open field with the other children, engaging in a playful yet competitive game of fist fighting. They weren’t fighting to hurt each other, just testing their strength, pushing boundaries the way wolf pups did naturally

I leaned against the doorframe, watching him with a small smile as I sorted through the herbs in my basket. The old woman, Sarah, the same one who had first greeted me when I awoke, had been preparing for the upcoming annual pack exchange, and I had been helping her gather supplies

I lost myself in my work for a while, my fingers methodically separating leaves and stems, when a shadow suddenly loomed over me

I looked up

Syrus

The third son of the current Alpha of the Moon Shard Pack

Tall and broadshouldered, with piercing silver eyes and dark hair that fell messily over his forehead, he carried an air of quiet confidence that never seemed to waver. He was known for his strength, not just in battle but in character

Unlike his older brothers, who were more involved in leading the pack, Syrus had a tendency to wander, to observe rather than command. His laidback personality made his brothers worry about him, but Syrus simply talks them off, then runs off to who knows where

You’re working too hard,” he remarked, his deep voice carrying a hint of amusement. You should take a break.”

i arched a brow but didn’t pause in my task. I don’t mind. It keeps me busy.”

Syrus crouched down beside me, his gaze flickering briefly to Caleb, who was still laughing and playing without a care in the world. He’s getting stronger

Pride swelled in my chest, but I kept my tone neutral. He is.”

You’ve raised him well.”

I glanced at Syrus, trying to gauge his expression, but as always, his face was plastered with his usual smile. There was something about him that made it hard to determine what he was trully thinking. He never pushed, never pried, but his presence was steady, unwavering

And for some reason, he had taken an interest in me
