Chapter 3
“Ten days. Let’s see if you can make Alexander walk, or if I can wake Ethan.”
“Stella, do you dare?”
My words immediately caused an uproar.
“Isn’t the Alpha Silvermoon in a coma? That’s much harder than healing Alexander’s legs.”
“Right, if it weren’t for the Silvermoon Pack spending a fortune to keep Ethan alive, he would have died long ago.”
“If Miss Aurelia can wake Ethan, that would be a miracle in healing history!”
“One month is already short enough—how is ten days even possible?”
Hearing the surrounding discussions, Stella’s eyes flashed with cunning.
“I accept. With all these witnesses, Aurelia, you can’t back out when you lose.”
I nodded lightly.
“I won’t lose.”
Alexander’s lips curved into a contemptuous smile.
“Alpha Ethan is practically dead already. You can’t even heal my legs, yet you fantasize about healing Alpha Ethan. Aurelia, if you admit defeat now, I might consider not banishing you from the territory.”
My gaze swept meaningfully over his legs.
“Alexander, medicine can be toxic. Be careful that Miss Stella’s medical skills are too advanced—you might end up not only with unhealed legs but also some strange new ailment.”
With that, I turned and left.
Stella was just a weak she-wolf from a minor bloodline with no healing abilities whatsoever.
The idea that she could heal Alexander’s paralysis?
No fucking way I’d buy that.
That night, news of our bet spread throughout the Moonlands Territory.
People even started placing bets on who would win. Alexander, to encourage Stella, bet ten million on her victory.
Early the next morning, Luna Silvermoon picked me up to go to the Moonlands hospital.
I took out the blood medicine I had prepared beforehand, lifted Ethan’s head, and made him drink it.
At most, it would take seven days for Ethan to awaken.
“Miss Moonrise, thank you. Regardless of whether Ethan wakes up this time, the Silvermoon Pack will remember this kindness.”
“If you have any requests, please voice them. We’ll do whatever we can.”
Luna Silvermoon was about to kneel again.
I quickly supported her.
“Luna Silvermoon, I’m not saving Ethan for anything in return. I just want to win.”
“Don’t worry, I will definitely wake Ethan.”
Luna Silvermoon’s eyes reddened with emotion.
“I also heard about your bet with Stella. The Silvermoon Pack has wagered ten million on you. When the time comes, we’ll give you everything including the winnings.”
“Miss Moonrise, please don’t refuse this—it’s what you deserve.”
I was about to speak when I saw Stella wheeling Alexander toward us.
“So that’s why you volunteered to save Alpha Ethan—you’re after the Silvermoon Pack’s money.”
Stella approached and grabbed Luna Silvermoon’s hand persuasively.
“Luna Silvermoon, don’t let Aurelia deceive you. She can’t even heal Alexander’s legs—how could she possibly wake Alpha Ethan? Don’t end up losing both your son and your money.”
Luna Silvermoon shook off her hand.
“I trust Miss Moonrise. It’s none of your concern, Miss Stella.”
Being so bluntly rejected by Luna Silvermoon, Stella pouted pitifully.
“I was just trying to warn you…”
Seeing tears in Stella’s eyes, Alexander’s heart ached.
“Luna Silvermoon, Alpha Ethan and I have known each other for years. You should at least trust my words. This she-wolf is a useless healer—don’t let her treat Alpha Ethan.”
I stopped Luna Silvermoon from defending me and looked at Alexander’s legs.
“Alexander, haven’t you noticed your legs have atrophied more severely than before?”
