Chapter 5
Alexander’s pants were torn by the stairs, exposing his legs to everyone’s view.
The crowd gasped in horror.
“How did the Alpha’s legs become so horrific? They looked fine just moments ago…”
“The bones have completely deteriorated–those legs are completely ruined!”
“Where’s Stella? Didn’t she say she healed him?”
Alexander lay on the ground howling in ag
agony.
But no one dared approach him.
Stella’s face turned deathly pale, her speech stuttering.
“How could this happen? Alexander was clearly standing just now…”
Luna Margaret, having received the news, rushed into the great hall.
Seeing Alexander collapsed on the ground, she slapped Stella hard across the face.
“Stella, you promised me you could heal Alexander. Look what you’ve done to him!”
“If anything happens to Alexander’s legs, I will let you pay!”
“Guards, lock up Stella. Don’t let her escape!”
Two security guards stepped forward, grabbed Stella’s arms, and dragged her out of the hall.
Stella struggled desperately, shouting at Alexander.
“Alexander, save me! I don’t know what went wrong, but I really didn’t mean to harm you!”
“You can’t treat me like this! Alexander! Say something!”
But Alexander was too preoccupied with his own suffering to protect her.
One of the guards knocked Stella unconscious and dragged her away.
Luna Margaret looked at Alexander’s legs helplessly.
“Miss Aurelia, what should we do? Can Alexander’s legs still be saved?”
I sighed.
“It’s too late. Take him to the hospital for amputation. At least that might save his life.”
As soon as I finished speaking, Luna Margaret fainted.
Alexander struggled to lift his head.
“I don’t agree! I absolutely will not allow amputation!”
“Luna, you useless healer, you just want revenge on me. I won’t let you succeed!”
“I dare anyone to take me to the hospital!”
I laughed coldly.
“Revenge on you? You think too highly of yourself. You know exactly what medicine Stella gave you.”
“Alexander, whether you live or die has nothing to do with me.”
With that, I turned to leave.
Ethan, who had been silent, followed me out.
“Miss Aurelia, did you know Alpha Alexander’s legs would end up like this from the start?”
I met his probing gaze and my expression turned cold.
“Are you blaming me for not warning him earlier?”
Ethan quickly explained.
“No, you misunderstood. He and I are enemies–seeing him in this state makes me happy, not upset.”
“I’m just curious how you were so certain his legs would fail.
“Miss Aurelia, I really didn’t mean to accuse you. I misspoke just now.
Seeing him frantically explaining, I chuckled.
“Alright, I believe you.”
“Luna Margaret showed me videos of Stella preparing her medicine. One of the liquids had no label–I was only suspicious before.”
“After seeing Alexander stand up, I guessed that bottle contained Corrosive Moonwater, which causes internal decay but can temporarily restore function to paralyzed limbs in the final minutes before complete deterioration.”
Ethan frowned.
“So was Stella deliberately trying to harm Alexander?”
