Chapter 8
Ethan smiled helplessly.
“Aurelia, you finally remember me. You mistook Alexander for me because of this bracelet, didn’t you?”
“No wonder you never recognized me.”
I explained.
“It was too dark then–I couldn’t see your face clearly.”
“But why was this bracelet in Alpha Alexander’s possession?”
At this mention, anger flared in Ethan’s eyes.
“The Blackthorne and Silvermoon packs have always been at odds, so Alexander and I never got along. He saw me wearing this bracelet often, he thought there’re some power secrets in it, so he stole it.”
“Back then I thought I had accidentally lost it–I never suspected it was with him.”
I now deeply hated Alexander.
If he hadn’t stolen Ethan’s bracelet, I never would have experienced that tragic past life.
Fortunately, fate had given me another chance to start over.
I then asked further.
“What did you mean earlier about the truth of the car accident?”
Ethan took a deep breath.
After a long silence, he continued.
“At that time, the Silvermoon and Blackthorne packs were competing for the same contract–a deal that would determine our overseas territory. I was close to finalizing the agreement.”
“But Alexander played dirty, deliberately causing a car accident to delay me, though he didn’t expect to encounter that out–of–control truck.”
“Because of my accident, my Pack lost that opportunity. Though he got the contract, he also lost the use of his legs.”
He suddenly grasped my hand.
“Aurelia, thank goodness for you. Thank you for healing me and letting me live again.”
Under his intense gaze, I blushed and tried to pull my hand away, but he held it firmly.
“Aurelia, I…”
“He’s out! The surgery is finished!”
Ethan’s unspoken words were interrupted by Luna Margaret’s voice.
Luna Margaret hurriedly called me over.
“Miss Aurelia, please help me check if Alexander’s surgery was successful.”
I looked at Alexander, still unconscious from anesthesia, lying on the hospital bed.
Seeing his now truly empty lower body, I anticipated his expression when he woke up.
From my past life’s understanding of him, someone as proud as Alexander would find living as a true invalid worse than death.
When Alexander regained consciousness, Stella didn’t immediately rush to his side.

After seeing Alexander wheeled out of surgery, her expression had changed. Her once loving eyes now held only fear and disgust.
But Alexander beckoned to her.
“Stella, even though you couldn’t heal me, I’ll still keep my promise.”
“Once I’m discharged, I’ll give you a magnificent mating ceremony and make you the happiest Luna.”
But Stella showed no joy, instead making excuses.
“Alexander, your health is most important. Let’s talk about mating later.”
Alexander’s expression immediately darkened.
“Stella, are you disgusted by me?”
Before Stella could explain, Luna Margaret, who had just finished a phone call, kicked her.
“Stella, the test results for your medicine are in. That bottle contained Corrosive Moonwater–a poison that causes bodily decay.”
“You’re the one who made Alexander like this. Why did you do this!”
