Chapter 94
Gideon POV
I don’t have much left now. I need to get Serafine moved soon, but I’m still holding out because what if we need her? Sure, Clare is convinced the baby is enough for her, but we never know.
I’m not entirely sure where the baby is, likely with a maid or such. I’m just sitting here, watching Clare do whatever weird magic she does, and I’m hoping for results. I need faster results.
“Can you go any quicker?” I ask.
“Rushing things like this doesn’t get results.”
“No, but it might, and right now I’ve no idea how long I have before Xander shows up!” I snap.
“I thought he wouldn’t until you sent Serafine?” Clare looks at me.
“That’s the plan, but there are always other things to consider. Like, what if he felt her giving birth? What if he’s looking for her and the child? I need results now, not in months.”
She turns and faces me. She’s pissed, good, pissed off people focus more and work better. “You want faster results?” she asks, and I nod.
“Yes, like now, not later.”
“Then give me test subjects. I need Betas, gammas, everything. Those who haven’t had their wolves restricted. Let me test things on them.”
“I need those men, for if we’re attacked,” I remind her.
“Well, it’s either that I keep testing it on the weak omegas, and we have no idea what it’s truly capable of against an army.” She places down the items and faces me fully. “You want me to find what Eryx is capable of, if his blood and such have benefits, so you can use it against the armies going forward. Name one army with Omegas in them.”
My jaw clenches. She’s not wrong, she’s right. “Fine, I’ll get you them, I’ll bring some to you, all different, happy?”
Nodding, she smiles. “Immensely.”
“If I do this, I get results quicker, yes?” I ask.
“Quicker for sure, but it’s not guaranteed to be today, tomorrow or even this month.”
“Make it today!” I shout. Storming out I consider who to use, they need to be strong, but also ones I can live with losing.
Maybe the last ones to come here from the last pack I took down? They will be easier to manipulate from the outsiders, they are more of a risk to me so l can cope with losing them if they die.
“Alex, Callum, Fred, and Owen, follow me now,” I call out to where they are stationed. They glance between each other but then follow me. I walk through the pack house back to the room where Clare is.
She looks up and sighs. “They are the best you’re getting. Two betas to gamma. Get to work.”
“What is needed of us Alpha?” One of them asks but I don’t bother looking at them.
“You’re going to be tested on. Strap them down,” I order. My men move quickly, forcing them into seats. Likely trying to please me so they don’t end up tied to the chairs as well.
Clare looks at someone. “I need the baby, she says and the beta leaves. I can see the ones tied down are now worried, so they should be, but it’s too late. The plan is set, they will hopefully survive, if not… Well, I’ll be down four men but I guess I can always find more.

Chapter 94
Waiting isn’t my strong point, I hate it. So instead, I stand and leave and walk to where Serafine is being kept. As I enter the hallway where she is, the scent of sex and wolves is so overwhelming, I know when it comes to leaving her outside Xander’s, he will lose it.
Ollie is outside looking bored as hell.
“Who is in there?” lask.
“Damon, again.” He sighs and shakes his head.
“Don’t let him become attached to her, his obsession seems deeply rooted,
body.”
and the last thing we need is Damon to switch because he’s enjoying her
Ollie chuckles. “I don’t think he will become attached to the point he protects her, maybe ask you to keep her here longer but that’s all.”
I nod slowly. “See to it that it stays that way.”
“We will, also, some of the men are becoming disgusted by the scent of her, is she allowed her until she’s cleaned?”
to be cleaned up, as a lot of the men no
longer wish to touch
Good, that’s actually amazing. “No, she stays like that. I want Xander to see her this bad, to catch without being cleaned, the greater the chance there is that he will react without thinking.”
the
scent of
ent of every man on her. The longer she’s used
He looks around and rubs his neck.
“Do you have an issue, Ollie?”
“No, it’s just. I’m not comfortable degrading an omega in such a way she’s covered in almost every male wolf’s release.”
I chuckle, “So you’re fine to take what you want, use her, even when she says no, but leaving her covered in your release and others is a line you draw?” I stare at him. “Maybe you should be moved elsewhere, you’re coming across as weak.”
“No! I swear I’m not, I won’t mention it again.”
“Good, ensure you don’t. Because that scent you all hate and find disgusting is a weapon.”
Turning, I walk back through and see Clare still working. I’m not happy about this, I want results.
“I’ve got something,” she says.
“About time, what?”
“The baby, his eyes keep shifting colours, and I feel magic from within him.”
Nodding slowly, I move closer. “Magic as in threadborn or something else?”
“As in there’s more there. Yes, he’s threadborn, but now, I can sense a magic within him, something growing.”
Keep watching it. When you get a sense of what he’s capable of, make me aware. I don’t care how small or insignificant it is; tell me.”
“I will, Alpha,” she says, then goes back to working. I always suspected magic would be something Threadborn acquired; I just don’t understand how Serafine hasn’t felt it yet or uncovered it.
