(Jason)
Six months after separating from Sarah,
Jason received her call for the first time.
He thought she was going to start another
irrational argument or hurl insults.
Unexpectedly, Sarah, abandoning her usual
domineering and tempestuous behavior,
spoke calmly.
“Jason, I agree to the divorce.”
She told him.
Jason subconsciously frowned, his first
reaction being-
What divorce?
Seeing his lack of understanding, Lily beside
him whispered a reminder.
Only then did Jason recall what he’d said to
Sarah half a year ago when he moved out. “Are you sure?”
<
“Yeah. When you’re free, let’s meet and sign
the divorce papers.”
Sarah hung up after that.
His doubts deepened, but before he could
find an answer,
Lily put her arms around his neck.
“Your wife just said she agreed to the
divorce. Is it true?”
“Yeah.”
“Great! Now no one will bother you anymore.”
Lily was even happier than him, excitedly
pressing against him.
In the past, young and passionate Lily would
have easily ignited his desire.
But now, Jason couldn’t bring himself to be
happy.
He never wanted to divorce Sarah.
It was a scare tactic; why did Sarah suddenly
agree?
Jason was baffled.
く
But then he thought,
Could this be another one of Sarah’s
schemes? That’s how she is. She’ll say
anything to get him back. Once, he even received a message from Sarah saying her mother was seriously ill. He ignored it. After all, the boy who cried wolf wouldn’t fool the villagers a third time.
Jason decided Sarah was deceiving him.
But then he thought he hadn’t seen Sarah in
six months.
It’s fine, since Sarah called, he might as well
go see her.
Jason had his lawyer draft the divorce
agreement and messaged Sarah, asking her
to come to the company on Monday to sign.
There was a small incident.
When Jason was about to send the message,
he realized he’d blocked Sarah.
Their chat history was stuck months ago.
<
Sarah had found out about him and Lily.
Actually, he couldn’t remember what
happened.
Anyway, Sarah acted like she was going
crazy, causing a huge ruckus at home. He couldn’t take it anymore and moved out.
But Sarah didn’t give up, constantly
messaging him with accusations and long
rants.
Like a madwoman.
Once, Sarah messaged him again.
But halfway through the message, Jason,
annoyed, blocked her.
After unblocking Sarah, Jason was genuinely
worried Sarah would act like before.
But this time, she simply replied “Okay.”
Strange, did she really change?
