I was surprised until I received a call from the
real estate agent.
“Ms. Shen, there’s a problem with selling your house, can you come back and handle it?”
I bought a return ticket with confusion.
As soon as I got off the car, I saw the real
estate agent who called me a few days ago.
Seeing me return, he looked like he’d seen a
savior.
“Ms. Shen, you’re back! Your husband…
heard you were selling this house, and he
strongly disagreed.”
The agent told me the situation in a few
words.
I laughed angrily.
I knew Jason wouldn’t be quiet.
He was waiting for me here.
“I’ll handle it.”
After sending the real estate agent away, I
called Jason.
He didn’t answer; I went directly to his
company.
Unlike last time, this time the receptionist
didn’t ask any questions and directly led me
upstairs.
And the girl who greeted me before,
this time, she respectfully led me to Jason’s
office door.
“Mr. Zhou is waiting for you inside.”
I glanced at her, not really at her,
but my gaze swept past her, towards Lily in
<
the corner.
She seemed to have been demoted.
I remembered that the last few times I came,
her position was closest to Jason’s office.
Lily saw me and couldn’t hide the hatred and
anger in her eyes.
If her eyes were real weapons, I wouldn’t
doubt she’d burn holes in me.
I ignored her and pushed the door open.
The moment I saw the office layout,
I was a little dazed.
All traces of Lily had been erased.
It looked like it had reverted to its original
state.
Jason sat in the boss’s chair behind his desk.
Against the huge floor–to–ceiling windows,
his thin figure appeared tired and decadent.
Extremely lonely.
It’s true.
Because of the trending topic,
L
Jason’s company’s stock price had fallen
several points.
He would be stressed.
But… what did it have to do with me?
“If I remember correctly, you agreed to give
me this house.”
I walked straight to Jason and questioned
him.
Hearing my voice, Jason looked up, his gaze
deep.
“Sarah, what does regret mean?”
He didn’t answer my question, which
confused me.
But soon, I understood.
He was referring to what I said in the video.
When the vlogger asked me, “What would you
say to your five years younger self?”
My answer was:
“Sarah, don’t marry Jason. You’ll regret it.”
And five years ago.
く
When Jason and I got our marriage
certificate, he asked me with tears in his
eyes.
“Sarah, marrying me was hard for you. Will
you regret it?”
My answer then was, “No.”
Now Jason was asking what regret means.
“Don’t you understand?”
I couldn’t help but laugh and calmly asked
back.
