Chapter 16
Two weeks flew by, and Winona hadn’t seen anyone she disliked during this time. Her life seemed to have gotten on the right track.
“Winona, if you’re free today, go have a haircut with me. My hair seems to have grown a lot,” Lena said.
Winona looked at her reflection in the glass. She had been busy these days, but she had wanted to cut her long hair for a long time. She didn’t like long hair. It was a pain to deal with. But Xavier said her long hair was beautiful, so she kept it for a whole year.
“Sure,” she agreed.
It was almost noon when they came out of the barbershop, so the two of them went to the nearest restaurant. However, Winona didn’t expect that she could be so unlucky to meet the last person she wanted to see.
“Winona, look over there. That’s the CEO of Patterson Group. Who is the woman next to him? She is so beautiful. Is she his girlfriend?” Lena exclaimed.
Winona glanced up from her menu. Her eyes locked with Xavier’s. The next second, she looked away, saying casually, “Maybe.”
“That woman must be something. I really envy her,” Len
sighed.
Seeing Lena all attracted to him, Winona thought back to when she fell for Xavier’s charm. “You like him?” Winona asked.
Lena rested her chin on her hand, her lips in a pout. “What woman wouldn’t go for him? He’s loaded, smart, hot, and fit. And the best part, he isn’t like those other rich guys with scandals all over.”
Hearing this, Winona just smiled. She thought, ‘Yes, it sounds really attractive.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Ryan had also seen Winona. He raised his eyebrows When did she become like this?” he asked.

Eliza peeked over at Winona, and her grip on her fork tightened. She couldn’t deny w looked stunning, especially today, a different kind of
beauty from Eliza’s, like an elegant rose.
Winona was wearing a black turtleneck, a beige coat, and boots, looking sharp and sophisticated. Her shoulder–length wine–red hair was really charming. Then Eliza glanced at Xavier by her side and ventured, “Xavier?”
Xavier glanced back and said, “Yes?”
Eliza smiled gently and said, “Aren’t you gonna say hello to her?”
Xavier looked at Eliza quietly for a while and said, “The food is getting cold.”
Eliza’s face turned pale. She looked down at the steak in front of her and said as if she was recalling the past. “You used to
Hearing that, Xavier set his glass down and said coolly, “I’m going to the restroom. Start without me.”
O cut it for me.”
Eliza watched him go, a sad look creeping into her eyes as they reddened. Then her gaze shifted to the other two

guys at the table.
Ryan glared at Zachary, thinking Zachary wasn’t gentle enough. “Eliza, what’s wrong?” Ryan asked tenderly.
“Ryan, they have been married for a year. How were they in their marriage?” she asked.
Ryan was stunned for a second, and Zachary had already answered for him, “Quite good.”
Eliza’s face lost more color. “How good?”
Zachary arched an eyebrow. “Well, let’s just say if you didn’t show up, the Patterson family might be talking about a baby next year.” He wasn’t just making this up. Xavier had spilled the beans when drunk. His family were asking him to have a kid. Zachary asked him what he thought, and Xavier just paused and said, “Whatever, if it happens, it happens.”
With a clang, the fork in Eliza’s hand dropped on the table. She was stunned and her eyes looked a little panicky.
Ryan nudged Zachary but got a cold gaze in return. Truth was never pleasant to hear.
In the restroom, after washing her hands, Winona looked up at herself in the mirror and smiled. Sometimes, it only took one moment to give up. She seemed to be able to remain calm and indifferent when she saw them. But it would still take her more time to completely forget Xavier.
She looked down to straighten her belt and walked out. Suddenly, someone yanked her to the side. Her mouth was covered before she could
