Winona didn’t expect that there would be someone else in Xavier’s office. She remembered that she brought him dinner once, but he asked her to take it back and told her not to do it again, saying he didn’t like her coming to his office. After that, he left for a meeting. But now, he was eating cake with another woman.
Hearing the noise, Eliza also turned around. She was a little surprised when she saw Winona, and she lowered her head to look at herself.
Winona knew why she was so surprised. They both had long blonde hair and were wearing white dresses. Even their temperament was similar. Winona suddenly felt sick. Xavier had Winona’s clothes delivered to the villa for the last year. He not only married her for her voice resembling Eliza’s but dressed her up like her too.
Winona’s face turned a little pale. She grabbed the doorknob tightly and tried to make herself less embarrassed. Then she ignored Eliza and said uneasily, “I’m here for my stuff.”
Eliza turned around to look at Xavier. Although he wasn’t very nice to her just now, he seemed to be more pissed when he saw Winona. Thinking about this, Eliza came to Winona and held out her hand with a smile.
“Nice to meet you, Ms. Moore. I’m Eliza Scott, Xavier’s…” She paused, hesitating, and then she said in a soft voice, “Xavier’s friend.”
Winona lowered her gaze to try to stay cool. Then she held out her hand too. “Winona Moore. Nice to meet you too.”
Then they looked at each other in silence.
Seeing this, Xavier somehow felt a little unhappy, so he stood up and came to his desk. “Come in.”
Winona gave Eliza a frosty nod and headed in, without a single glance at Xavier. “Where’s my stuff?”
He stared, hunting for any flicker of feeling, but her face was locked down tight. He handed over the divorce papers, but his grip lingered. She had to look up to meet his eye. “Why don’t you take a seat to read it first?” he suggested.
“No need,” Winona replied. Then she snatched it from him. She took out her pen, turned to the last page, and signed quickly.
She gave him one of the copies back, said nothing, and turned away.
Xavier kept a straight face the whole time, staring at her beautiful signature. It was clear she didn’t want to waste any time.
He bit his lip, thought for a second, then reached for her wrist. Winona was shocked. She was so busy trying to dodge him that she accidentally knocked her papers flying. “Don’t touch me!” she yelled.
Seeing this, Eliza felt a little unhappy. She picked up the papers from the ground and figured out what they were, overjoyed.
“You dropped your papers, Ms. Moore.” Eliza handed them over.
Xavier stared at Winona with a serious face as if he was looking into her soul.
Winona couldn’t hold on any longer. She feared that she would break down, so she looked away awkwardly.
“Thanks. I’ll leave you alone.” She glanced at the cake on the coffee table quickly and left.
Seeing this, Shawn had to follow Winona to leave.
Eliza came to Xavier and held his hand, saying with a smile, “Are you divorcing her?”
Xavier finally gazed at her. After a moment of dead silence, he pushed her hand off and said without much care, “It’s none of your business. And don’t show up at my office again.”
Eliza’s smile just froze on her face. She looked hurt but sucked it up. She stayed all sweet and nice, like he was kidding or something.
*Fine, I’ll leave you alone then.” After saying that, she stared at him with smiling eyes. The fact that he was divorcing Winona was great news for her.
‘Don’t forget to take the cake,” said Xavier.
Eliza was overjoyed so she didn’t insist on staying.
“I’ll walk you out, Mrs. Patterson.
Winona spun around, her face cold as ice, something Shawn had never seen before. “It’s Ms. Moore, thank you very much,” she said sarcastically.

Thinking about what had happened just now, Shawn was a little embarrassed. He thought, ‘Why was I afraid that Eliza would misunderstand it? It’s not a secret that they’re divorcing. Oh my goodness, what have I done?‘
Winona walked out of the building, about to hail a taxi when a soft voice stopped her. “Please wait for a second, Ms. Moore. Do you have time for a talk?”
