Winona was sitting in a coffee shop, staring out the window and kind of wishing she hadn’t said yes to Eliza’s invite. She let out a quiet sigh.
Eliza had been watching Winona and noticed there wasn’t really sadness in her eyes, just this blank look. She took a sip of her coffee and said softly, “I’m sorry, Ms. Moore.”
Hearing this, Winona looked at her in confusion. “For what, Ms. Scott?”
Eliza said with a sigh, “I believe that you’ve known my relationship with Xavier. Since you chose to divorce, I think I need you.”
Winona said calmly, “What do you have to explain?”

After looking at her for a while, Eliza said, “I grew up with Xavier and we promised to get married after we grew up, but his grandparents and parents didn’t like me. They forced me to break up with him by threatening me with my ill mother. That’s why I broke up with him. I didn’t want my mother to get hurt.

However, Winona just found it ridiculous. She thought, ‘Thanks for what? For acting like a fool and being your shadow for a whole year? For helping your beloved man move on?‘
Looking at Eliza’s face, Winona just couldn’t shake the feeling she was being fake. “Why did you marry someone else if you loved him so much, Ms.
Scott?” Winona asked.
Eliza was surprised that Winona would say so. . She had expected Winona to run away. Eliza clenched her fists and forced a smile. “My husband and I divorced because I was still in love with Xavier. I came back for…”
Winona had run out of her patience. She stood up, looked down at Eliza, and said in a peaceful but sarcastic tone, “You both claim to love each other but ended up married to others. Such ‘pure love‘ you got there.”
Hearing this, Eliza felt a little awkward. She squinted and said, “Sorry if I said something wrong, Ms. Moore.”

Winona grabbed her phone tightly. “Grandma Diane…”
“I want to hear all about it in person. Get over to the Patterson residence now,” Diane insisted.
“I…” Winona started but got cut off. “What? You don’t take my words seriously anymore?”

Winona had to give in. “Okay, okay, don’t be mad, Grandma Diane. I’m coming now,”
After hanging up, she sighed and said to the driver, “Go to Fountain Villas.”
Standing outside the villa after she arrived. Winona sighed. Just as she was about to come in, she heard a car door close.
It was Xavier. They met again outside the Patterson residence.
Xavier couldn’t help frowning when he saw her, but before he could say anything, he heard her say, “Why does Grandma Diane know about our divorce? Did you tell her?”
