Wedding My Ex’s Uncle

That formal “Mr. Graves” made Alden’s temple throb with irritation.
“Kaia, I’m ordering you to get to my office right now.”
Kaia rolled her eyes.

“Mr. Graves, Mr. Warren Wright from our firm will be taking over all matters concerning your company. He’s also a mid–level attorney with five years of experience on our team. I promise he’ll take excellent care of your company.”
“No way! It has to be you, Kaia. I’m only giving you one chance here. If you keep stalling, I’m calling your boss directly.”
Kaia tightened her grip on the phone.
This was a crucial moment in her career, with the equity partner promotion on the line. She couldn’t let Alden jeopardize everything she’d worked for.
Her eyes darkened as she spoke, “I’ll be there in thirty. Be ready. Don’t keep me waiting.”
But Alden stood her up. Again.
When Kaia arrived at Alfly Entertainment precisely on time, his secretary Nora said to her, “Ms. Domont, Mr. Graves is in a

meeting. Would you mind waiting in the conference room?”
Kaia drew in a deep breath.
She was here on Vanguard business. Had to keep it professional.
But damn, she wanted to kick that jerk’s door down.
Her eyes narrowed slightly. “Oh? But Mr. Graves called me here urgently. I thought your company was about to go bankrupt or something.”
Nora choked on her words and could only smile awkwardly.
As she struggled to find the right explanation for Kaia, casual chatter from passing employees drifted in from outside.
“Hey, did you guys see that? Is the woman in Mr. Graves‘ office his fiancée? So sweet–Mr. Graves is making coffee for her himself!”
“Don’t talk nonsense, that’s Mr. Graves‘ sister! You new guys may not know this, but Mr. Graves is well–known for doting on
his sister.”
Kaia’s hand clenching slightly.
So that was why she’d been cooling her heels–he was busy entertaining Luna in his office!

She’d had enough. Brushing past Nora, she pushed open Alden’s office door without waiting for permission.
Alden was taken aback by the sudden intrusion.
Just moments ago, he was on the couch, gently putting burn ointment on Luna.
Nora immediately panicked. “Mr. Graves, Ms. Domont forced her way in. I tried to stop her, but I couldn’t.”
Alden glared at Kaia with obvious displeasure.
“Fine, you can go now. Since Ms. Domont is already here, she might as well stay.”
Indeed, the timing was perfect.
With Luna watching, he could finally settle the score from yesterday.
Kaia crossed her arms, wearing a mocking smile.
“Sorry to interrupt your… bedroom time–oh wait, I mean bandaging time!”
She continued, “But I assume Mr. Graves didn’t urgently summon me here just to watch you play nurse with your beloved sister.”

Her sarcastic jab hit its mark–both Alden’s and Luna’s expressions immediately darkened.

Luna said, “Kaia, you’ve got it all wrong. Mom just wanted me to bring Alden his lunch today. He was in that car accident two days ago, and she’s worried about him getting better. I had no idea he was meeting with you…”
Kaia nearly lost her lunch.
Oh please. Playing the perfect little sister act? Give me a break.
“Luna, you don’t need to explain yourself to her when you come to see me at the office,” Alden said coldly.
“Actually, let’s talk about you.” Alden’s eyes turned ice–cold as he stared at Kaia. “I haven’t settled yesterday’s score with you yet! Look at what you did–Luna almost got a blister from that burn! You deliberately hurt my sister. Apologize to her right
now!”
Kaia snorted and glanced at Luna’s so–called injury—a tiny red mark no bigger than a fingernail, nothing compared to the
marks on her neck.
“Listen up, Mr. Graves. Quick Law 101: assault charges? Need second–degree injuries minimum. Better get that documented before it vanishes.
“And yesterday? Just a public disturbance, tops. But here’s the

thing—whoever starts trouble deserves what they get. If your precious Ms. Thorne and her bestie hadn’t provoked me first, none of this would have happened.
“So maybe you should tell your sweetheart to stay far away from me from now on?”
Both their faces darkened like storm clouds after she finished
speaking.
“Kaia Domont!” Alden’s handsome face turned icy. “You’re really something! Throwing hot water at Luna—what a vicious heart you have!”
A flash of satisfaction crossed Luna’s eyes before she quickly put
on her innocent act.
“Kaia, I know you don’t like me, but please don’t be angry with Alden. I swear I’ll never appear in front of you again…”
“Swear? You’re quite fond of making promises you can’t keep.”
Kaia’s laughter was ice–cold. “If you’re actually serious, let’s make it legal. Sign a contract stating that if you ever harass me again, everything you own – every single cent – becomes mine.”
She turned to Alden with mock sincerity.
“Would you like to sign one too? Your shares would make excellent compensation for breach of contract.”

Alden and Luna stood there, stunned.

Alden snapped out of it first. “Kaia, is this how a high–class lady acts? And why should we sign this kind of contract? You haven’t even made one yourself!”
Kaia blinked innocently. “Oh, I can sign it. I’d be more than happy to.”
“Need me to refresh your memory? I told you the other day, that I’d never marry you, and if I broke that promise, you’d never have any kids your whole life!—I can put that in writing and sign it right now.”
She sneered, “But do you have the guts to sign yours?”
Luna bit her lip, her face flushing red and white in turns. There was no way she could sign such an unreasonable contract.
Alden ground his teeth so hard.
How dare she! What gives her the right?
Kaia let out a cold laugh and rolled her eyes. “Tsk, what a couple of cowards! If you can’t actually do it, don’t talk big to me!”
“I’m done here!”
Kaia strode out with her head held high and shoulders back,

leaving Nora completely stunned.

That’s it? Nothing else happened? She should be walking out looking like a wilted flower or something.
Did Mr. Graves really not yell at her? Is he really that patient?
What Nora didn’t know was that Alden didn’t hold back because
he wanted to–he just couldn’t win an argument with her.
头头头*
After Kaia left, Alden’s office fell into dead silence.
For a long moment, the only sound was the faint hum of the air conditioning.
Finally, Alden let out a heavy breath.
“Luna, don’t let her get to you. She’s always ready with a sharp comment. Don’t worry, I won’t let her walk all over you like that. This isn’t over,” he declared firmly.
With that, Alden dialed Tobias‘ number.
