Chapter 10
I didn’t know what Melanie in the ambulance thought when she
heard this.
Seeing her like this, I didn’t feel relieved, but sad. It was not worth it for two women like us to fight for a scum like Zach.
No matter how miserable she was, she couldn’t bring my child back.
That night, the hospital sent news that Melanie had given birth to a baby boy. Unfortunately, the baby had congenital heart disease. He was sent to the intensive care unit as soon as he was born.
My friend told me that it would cost over a million dollars to cure
him.
For the unemployed Zach, this money was basically all his assets.
At that moment, I understood what retribution meant.
The next day, I bought a set of mourning clothes to visit Melanie in the hospital. When she saw me, she no longer had the arrogance of the day before, but a look of horror instead. “Winona, what else do
you want?”
I put the mourning clothes beside her bed and smiled. “I was

afraid that you had nothing to wear, so I specially prepared you
a set.
“I heard that your son is not in good health.
“It’s okay. Blame Zach. Survival of the fittest. Don’t be sad. If you hurt yourself, you won’t be able to get pregnant again.”
Melanie was so angry that she almost couldn’t breathe, and the monitor kept beeping.
Zach came in when I was about to leave.
It turned out that Melanie knew that the child had heart
problems during the prenatal checkup. To tie Zach down forever, she chose to give birth to the baby without telling him.
Zach went crazy in the ward and smashed everything he could. He pointed at Melanie’s nose and cursed.
“Bitch, didn’t you say that there was no problem with the prenatal checkup? Didn’t you say that the baby was healthy?
“Even though you gave birth to him now, I only recognize Winona as my wife!
“You begged me to get pregnant with this child. I won’t give you a penny!”
But the doctor’s words calmed him down a lot.
“Mr. Collins, based on your sperm situation, it will be difficult.

for you to have kids again.”

Zach paid the compensation for smashing things at the hospital security department, and when he left, he suddenly agreed to divorce me.
After coming out of City Hall, he said, “I’m sorry, Winona. I know I was wrong. I don’t deserve you. Can we still be friends?”
I had no interest in being friends with the murderer who killed my child.
He chased after my car and cried, much more embarrassed than I was before.
Things changed, and Zach’s retribution had just begun.
The day we officially went to get the divorce certificate, Zach’s mental state was very bad. His eyes were sunken and he was so skinny.
I asked him and found out that Melanie ran away with the money from the sale of the house after she was discharged from the hospital.
“That bitch instigated me to sell our house, but she ran away with the money.
“Winona, I really know I was wrong. Can you come back? I asked the doctor if the child’s disease could be cured. It’s just a minor operation.

“It’s so difficult to have a child. I won’t urge you to get pregnant again. You are his mother, okay? Come home with me.”
So disgusting.
“If you divorce me now, I won’t divide the property with you. You can still have a small house to sell to treat your son’s illness. If you don’t cooperate, I will file for divorce. In this case, you may lose everything.”
Zach knew I could do it. He didn’t dare to use his only remaining house to confess his love.
After I successfully divorced, I finally felt relieved.
