Sierra was describing the house’s setup to Lily and Dickson when Cameron’s call came through Hearing his diplomatically phrased request. Sterra couldn’t help but laugh, though she wasn’t surprised in the slightest.

Seeing her return with a bouquet, Jonathan unconsciously furrowed his brow and then asked, “Where did the flowers come from? They’re pretty?
Dr. Zahn gave them to grandma”
Sierra presented the flowers to her grandmother, “A patient gave them to Dr. Zahn, and he said they’re to celebrate your temporary discharge. Grandma, do you like them?”
Hearing they were from Dr. Zahn, Lily was delighted, nodding vigorously.
Dickson chimed in, “Dr. Zahn is so thoughtful; I saw him buying flowers at noon.”
Sierra hadn’t expected this gesture and guessed it was probably a pretext because he thought she wouldn’t accept them
otherwise.
Lily didn’t hold back her praises for Oscar, even with Jonathan there. The implication was quite clear.
Sierra understood her grandmother’s hint, and she felt a bit helpless, glancing at Jonathan subconsciously.
Jonathan observed their interaction, his expression as usual, which inexplicably disappointed Sierra. She spoke up, “Alright, grandma, let’s not talk about this anymore. Let’s go home?
Lily finally dropped the subject, and Sierra pushed her grandmother’s wheelchair ahead, with Jonathan and Dickson carrying things behind them.

their way home, Dickson looking around the spacious house in disbelief, hardly believing he could live in such a nice place.
Lily was also nervous, “Sierra, are you sure it’s okay for us to live here?”
“It’s fine, I own the house now. This is our home from now on.”
Lily and Dickson both seemed uncomfortable, taking a while to relax.
It was the family’s first dinner together at home, and Sierra prepared several dishes. She had invited Jonathan, but he declined..
“A day like this should be just for your family. It wouldn’t be right for me to join, and besides, I have to run an errand.”
Sierra was a bit disappointed; she had hoped Jonathan would be there today.
Lately, Jonathan had been a great help to her. In her heart, Jonathan might not be family, but he was like one. However, it seemed he didn’t feel the same way.
Maybe she was just being too informal because he was naturally helpful and kind.
Seeing Sierra go off excitedly and return disappointed, Lily couldn’t help but ask, “Sierra, do you like Mr. Yeager?”
Sierra was taken aback, then shook her head without hesitation, “No!”
She knew all too well what Jonathan’s status was in the biochemistry department–a godlike figure. The distance between them was more than just vast.
